27 pages for this thread and I can't believe there's not a single picture of a solid red 370Z on glossy black or matte black wheels...

On the good side, that means I'll probably be the first one..

I don't have my wheels yet but I'll be sure to post pics. here as soon as I get them..

Always wondered how the PG TE37SL's would look on a red 370Z..

Do you have more pics. from different angles?

phelan 05-27-2011 03:57 PM

yeah, they're buried in my journal: http://www.the370z.com/members-370z-...tml#post875730

Thanks.. It sure does look nice.. I think I'd like it even more if the wheels where matte black, though.

They only thing that doesn't do it for me is how the TE37SL's look bronze from certain angles.. I just don't like bronze wheels..

That is aggressive and you can't go wrong with the TE37. I will never tire of that wheel. :)

Another 350Z with black Volks, G2s this time. 19x9.5 +23 and 19x10.5 +20 and no lip.

Thanks! G2s look really nice on a 370Z too. Be sure you know whether the set you are looking at has a lip or not. The 19" G2s come both ways. The 18" and 20" G2s only come without a lip. In other words flush on the edges. Personally I think the G2s with a lip look smaller. I also have a set of Formula Silver G2s that I had on my 370Z and that I have used on my 350Z some. They have much more of a lip, especially in back. However, to me they appear smaller than my black G2s that don't have a lip.

Does the lip have a functional purpose or is it just for appearance? Thanks for including the pic of the 370z with the G2s...that definitely sealed the deal for me. Very nice!

No the lip has more to do with the offsets and the fact that traditionally many Volk wheels have come with lips.

Thanks Sharif! My next set will be purchased from you for my 370z I will be getting in a couple months :)

Off hand do you know if the 19x11 +15 which is offered on the TE37 time attack will be offered in a regular te37?

I wish Volk made a 10.5 +0 or 11 +5 in a monoblock wheel.... Seems to look the same for aggressiveness on the 370z as what I had on my 350z with. 10.5 +12

Thanks!
-Chad

Thanks for the info...I think I will now read up on offsets. I never knew owning a Z would be so stimulating to the brain!

When the time comes, let us know if we can help. We've supplied hundreds of sets of Volks to Nissan people over the years. :)

Anything in 19X11 historically has been made in the +25 or +20 offset. At +20 is pretty much perfect fitment on the rear of the 370Z, with a nice wide tire out back too.

Are you looking for the old school time attack, or the new Tokyo Time Attack? PM me if you want to take the discussion offline.

Sharif@Forged 01-12-2012 09:31 AM

You guys are inspiring me. Time to polish up my 370Z and take some new photos. :)

The original G2 (matte black ones on the 350Z) don't have a lip, but the G2 V2 has a lip and look a lot more like TE37 in shape. I prefer the original G2 as well. If you go from a flush spoked wheel to one with a lip, you need to go at least 1 size up otherwise the lipped wheel will appear smaller.

I think that is one reason I never thought my Formula Silver G2s (V2) looked as good on my 370Z as they do on my 350Z. Because of the lip they looked too small for the 370Z despite being 19" wheels. I wish I could have tried the Matte Black G2s (V1) on the 370Z. I bet they would have looked awesome. Unfortunately I sold my 370Z before I purchased the Matte Black G2s.

Your last pic is just the little red x, and those gt-30's on doc's old Z look more like the mercury finish and not the formula.
