Wheel weights... right or wrong?

I just got some new Michelin tires put on...i got them online at costco... saved several hundred. Question is... should i have wheel weights on the inside wheel well AND outside wheel well in different spots? They even put one small weight several inches from the group of 3 or 5 ounces, which i KNOW is wrong! Don't ever go to Costco. One wheel doesn't even have any weights which is why i think it's vibrating a bit at 70mph. They couldn't even scan my tpms sensor they told me to buy (dill redi)... since i didn't have any. I'm taking it to the Dealer in the morning to get it done properly.

Doubt you'll be satisfied with the dealer either
Im so anal about it, I mount my own tires with a manual machine.
Save the water based Lube for the bedroom.
I use WD-40.
Clean off all the old wheel weights and residue.
Then truck them over to a trusted local, independent tire shop to have them dynamically balanced.
Always stress that I only want the weights inboard, if at all possible.
Then I use a torque wrench and a smidge of anti seize to re-install.
No other way to be sure it's done how I want.

Bought my last from Costco too, however, had them installed and balanced at Nissan. Costco will void all tire warranties if they don't install. Not worth it.

There is a Porsche dealership near me and they will also do non-Porsche wheels. The cost was not that much more than Nissan. (Porsche uses black colored weights or to match your rims)

I had them installed at costco.

Dealer could only get 2 TPMS sensors working, but aligned the car and balanced wheels properly. Didn't pay for anything but alignment.

Then took car to Discount Tire which took all of 2 minutes to set all my TPMS correctly for free.
