Wheel Fitment Help With Sport Brakes
 

I cant for the life of me figure out what offset the wheels I want need to be to clear my sport brakes on my 2009 370z. I am looking at the Aodhan DS01 to be exact. I have done hours of research and keep getting so many different answers, I am not exactly sure what I want to do. I want a flush fitment without having issues rubbing and having to roll fenders, etc. I do plan to install BC BR coilovers when I install my wheels as well (if that matters).

The wheels come in a few different offsets but the ones I have been looking at are 19x9.5 +22 (front) and 19x10.5 +15 (rear). I read that the +22 will not clear the sport brakes, so I switched the sizes to 19x9.5 +15 (front) and 19x10.5 +15 (rear).

I also don't have an idea of what size tires I want to go with at the moment as I have been trying to figure out the wheel fitment problem. So suggestions are welcome. I am going for a "stance" type look but don't super stretch look (tiny bit of stretch is fine).

You are talking about two different things. Being flush and fitting a brake are not the same thing.

From what I have learned, fitting a wheel to a brake has more to do with wheel construction rather then offsets. By construction I mean how the wheel disk is engineered/designed. For example, you could have two wheels with the same offset, but one has a face that is more bowed out and the other one more straight. The bowed out wheel will fit a certain size calliper and the straight faced wheel in the same offset will not, as the space provided by the bowed out section is just not there on the second wheel. I am probably using the wrong terminology, but I hope I explained it in a way that is understandable.

There was a wheel that I liked, but the dealer told me that it will not fit my brakes. I was arguing that they are the same offset as another brand I was looking at, and that I saw pictures of that other brand on a 370Z. They guy kept telling me that it was about design, not offset, but either I was not listening to him, or he was not able to explain it to me correctly, but I did not understand what he was talking about. I did get it later, after someone else explained it to me.

The best way is to contact the manufacturer or a dealer, and ask them if they fit Akebonos.

Cooltoy is correct. Caliper clearance is dependent upon pad size/disk type and spoke articulation. It doesn't really have much to do with offset. That being said, you can effectively increase pad size by using a spacer to increase clearance. I don't see multiple disk types or face designs on the Aodhan site. So, if the 19x9.5 doesn't clear, you will need to use whatever size spacer is necessary

Other factors to consider are ride height, camber angle, sidewall stretch, and fender rolling.

Is the 19x10.5 ET15 supposed to clear front caliper?

I should also point out that 19x9.5 +15 in front is going to require adjustable front camber and maybe some fender work depending on height

And on another note . . . maybe shop for something that isn't a fake 3P?
