The better tires going to be hard to get?

I have been searching around, tire rack for one, looking for the Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Spec, and they only are available in the 245/45ZR18, they don't offer the tire in the 225/50R18. I have found this to be the case with all of the "better" tires. Does anyone have info that is to the contrary? Hope we can get the better tires for our 370Z's.

Have you checked out the Bridgestone RE-11's.

You could go 265 on the front and 285 (or 305 ) in the rear.

You might want to consider some Nitto Invo's.

I had them on my last vehicle (heavily modified rx8)

They are very good. I replaced them with the Star Specs so I can compare them

For my size the difference in price was about $5.
The star specs where louder as a tire. they even made a noise at 47mph, something i had not encountered before.

The invo's had great wet weather and dry weather traction. They did not grip as much as the star specs in the dry, but the difference is very marginal. The invo's were still a great auto-x tire.

The tread pattern looks baller too

how was the tread life on the Nittos?

I read the OP twice and I'm curious as to why you need a 225/50R18 tire? Maybe I'm still drunk...

Look for my other thread, there was a nice discussion there. Its the one called "best street tire - poll" or something along those lines.

its 8 in da morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :roflpuke2:

I noticed this about the Nitto NTO5. The many dealers of that tire don't have it in 265-285 but have 295 and 305 which is good but I know what you mean.

well the rear's only lasted my like 6k, and i flipped them inside out half way thru. but i drifted on them often.

the fronts lasted morel like 15k.

however, I drive on the track very very very often, so I was pleased with them:tup:

you track the car and you were happy with the Invos?

I did yes.

Now Like I said, They dont quite grip as well as re-11 or star specs, but they are close.

And i was happy to get that many miles considering how hard I was on them

i had nitto invos on my previous car a vw GLI and they sucked.. dont waste your money they barely gripped any better than the stock all seasons the car came with.

From the sizes you are looking for I am guessing you don't have the sport package. Well, if you are willing to go wider you can go 245/45/18 up front and 275/40/18 in the rear and you will have much better tire selection as far as performance tires go (Z1 star specs, AD08's, and RE-11's to name a few). Either that or get some 19 inch wheels and tires.
