Default Bigger or Better 18s on my Z?

Time for new tires. Been using the top Max Summer Michelin Pilots on my stock Z for 2 changes now. 225 and 245. This time I see the Firestone Indys have decent reviews and will run about 150 less than the M's after the M rebate. If I go with the F, I'm getting 245/45 and 275/40 front and rear.

My question is will these wider tires give me any significant improvement in handling and/or grip? I love my M when I first put them on but after time they kind of lose their tackiness. Is that the nature of any tire? For the record I, drive my car hard always. I bought it to have fun and yeah, it's fun.

Thanks...Nick

Check to make sure that you're not not greater than 3% difference between front and rear for tire height.
