Mistakes were made....maybe

Yeah so I think I made a mistake with my tire size up front.... bought a 255/40/19 with hopes of getting some wider rubber up there & yeah... it raised the car about 30mm or so which is a little more than an inch. Any ideas on how to fix this? It's paired with a 285/35 out back on my sport wheels. Didn't wanna lower the car but I think this is forcing me to pick up some Swift springs

That's an oddball front tire size. You would have been better off with 265/35/19's.

seems strange there is that much difference

Sounds really off to me if the tires are sized correctly.

4mm less wheel gap and 4mm higher ride height. Due to 8mm increase in overall height of your wheel. 30mm seems crazy for the size? What model tire are they? and what's on the rear?

Yeah, that doesn't make sense. Tire diameter difference in the two sizes is only 0.3 inches.

I will take pictures tomorrow...
In the meantime... the tires are called ECSTA PA1, pretty much some cheap all seasons I got from Tire Rack
Fronts I have 255/40 with a 20mm spacer
Rears I have 285/35 with a 20mm spacer
F & R are the same tire brand
Maybe I'm tripping balls to think it was raised an inch but it definitely raised it a significant amount, I always scraped on the speedbumps in my complex... now I don't lol

Double check your tire sizes. Read what's on the tires.

Some rudimentary detective work:

No such tire as a Kumho PA1.

There are all-seasons called Kumho PA31 and PA51

The PA31 is not available in 19 inch sizes, assuming the OP had that right, it's not this tire:

The PA51 is available in 255/40/19 but NOT 255/45/19:

255/40/19 is 27 inches

stock 245/40/19 is 26.7 inches

There's no way that there's a 30 mm difference, so as everyone stated . . . something is off.

Alright thank you all for the help... made a typo but the tire is actually the Kumho PA51.
Turns out my way of measuring the height difference was completely off... rookie mistake & it shows how I suck at math

With that being said the car is noticeable higher, & I feel that I have to correct this by dropping it with some springs... probably my next mod

Objectively, it’s not “noticeably taller”. Math points to a only a few mm difference, hardly warrant lowering spring.

It’s just the perception. With the increased width, combined with it being all season (so probably thicker rim protector), you are seeing more of the sidewall instead of the “stretched” look before.

Switch out the rear when it’s time, 285/35/19, that would even out the look. Learn to enjoy the meatier look haha.

Yeah you're right my car is making me delusional. Thanks for the help man & guess what... I did pair it with some 285/35's out back couldn't forget those lol

What else would you call the distance from mounting surface to furthest outer width of a wheel/tire combo? The one measurement that determines the "poke-ness" of a fitment?

Poke is relative to the car fender. You can't measure poke using a wheel or tire only. The measurements from the mounting surface are typically referred to as Front Spacing and Back Spacing

So as I stated before... picked up some Swifts & decided to drop the car, helps hide that 255/40 poke like I wanted

Have put about 150 miles on them since install & initial impressions are the ride is like an OEM plus... the ride did not become any harsher. Body roll around high speed bends is noticeably decreased as well... all in all the drop is great for a daily driver
