Default Lightweight 18" wheels (lighter than RPF1's)

I came across some wheels yesterday while searching for lightweight 18's for my G. My goal is to find a wheel that is lighter than stock while maintaining a "mature, refined" look. I feel like RPF1's don't fit the style of a luxury sedan and I think the styling on these wheels fit much better. It also seems like they should clear the akebono brakes on the G sport model and it's kinda hard to find 18's that will do that.

I was wondering if anyone has heard much about these or has opinions. I especially like the titanium color.

The specs are:

F: 18x8.5, +35mm, 18.1 lbs
R: 18x9.5, +38mm, 18.7 lbs

Seems like more excitement than .2 lbs per wheel warrants, unless you are a professional race team trying to eek the last few 10ths out over the competition.
In that case I doubt you would be running the 370Z. (Let's face it, we love our cars, and they are very capable enthusiast platforms, but there's a reason the pros go with elsewhere for GS and TCR class.)
It is a nice looking wheel, tho.

Appreciate the reply, friend!

I'm not trying to squeeze every ounce of weight possible, and not competing for anything either. This is purely for personal enjoyment. To an extent, I'm a bit of a min/maxer and if I can boost performance + handling characteristics while at the same time improving the looks of my car, then it's even better.

It's really exciting to me that there's another option that rivals the RPF1's weight yet looks better IMO. Just curious what everyone else thinks because I couldn't really find anyone running these wheels and I'm wondering why. They seem like a great value for their weight, price, and looks.

At just .2 lb difference, I'd just care about price, style preference, and durability.

I do really like their styling and pricing is good.

Why not look at Wedsport TC105X's?

Super light wheels, $2300 per set. Between 17 and 19lbs based on width and offset.

That would be out of my price range, but thank you for the suggestion!

These Superspeed wheels can be bought and shipped for under $1,000 from what I've found..

Before you drop the cash, call the wheel manufacturer and make sure that they will clear the calipers. Most of the time sub $1k wheels can leave much to be desired from a fitment and quality perspective. Good Luck!

It is all fine and good to try to pick the lightest wheel, but one thing people hardly ever consider, is the weight of the tire.

They are not all created equal.

I've sent them front and rear templates for fitment checks already

I've played with some wheel calculators too and it shows there should be even more room than the stock wheels..

Tires will be Michelin Pilot Sport 4S!

Thanks for the advice man, this is why I've made a thread asking for some opinions and suggestions! It's always best to be cautious.

I would not run those things if you paid me. You have no idea of the wheel integrity. Enkie's are race proven. Don't cheap out. If you want gain some performance by decreasing rotating mass, buy a set of lightweight rotors. Z1 lightweight rotors are about the lightest and will free up 10 lbs per side on the front and 5 lbs per side rear.

One of the lightest there is as far, as I know.

Well I'm pretty much sold on these after doing more research. But I have some other mod plans that are higher priority so I probably won't be getting wheels for a year or more.

Anyway! After browsing their facebook page, it seems these wheels have been track tested by plenty of people, and there are a lot of people using these wheels with good results:

https://www.facebook.com/superspeedw...nf&__tn__=kC-R

Also this article about how the wheels are made gives me greater confidence in their durability:

https://www.super-speed.ca/flow-form-technology

So I'll be purchasing these when the time comes and I'll make sure to post a review at that time. Thank you everyone for your input! I've decided not to get the titanium and I'm going to go with the Matte Gunmetal for my gray G37. The titanium are just a little too "bling" for me.
