Is there a general rule or a ratio on size difference between rear and front tires? TIA ZZ

the diameters must be within 3% of each other (i think thats the right number) or else the electronics will hate you

I know on my audi s5, I have 255/35R19. If I go 20" wheels than I need to decrease my side wall height to 30. If u go 21" wheels than 25.
But this is what I read. Sent from my SM-G965U1 using Tapatalk

I think the OP is asking if there is a preferred proportion between width of the front and width of the back tires.
NISMO stock tires are 245/285, or the fronts are ~86% as wide as the rears. Is there a point beyond which it adversely effects handling? Kirk B. |

I'm running 285/35-19 front and 345/30-19 rear. And track the car.

for PERFORMANCE? you should read the track forum extensively
but in summary, the preference is little or no stagger, 275 or 285 square for naturally aspirated cars add more power and the equation changes

Ok, so the reason I'm asking is simple. I need two new tires for the rear but my fronts are fine. (will get measurements later).
Im stock wheels on 17 NISMO. 285/245. If I went with 295 on Rears, keeping fronts at 245, what are the the consequences, if any? That's why I was asking for a ratio or standard formula. I know what the ratio is right now by doing simple math. However, does that formulation work the same way as I start going to slightly larger sizes? I'm guessing going to 295/255 eventually wont make a difference? I will stick with the Bridgestone S001 for now and will change brand on all 4's when time comes. |

At least that's what I've read. I have 255 all around stock. Going to 265 is good. But going 275 is not. Sent from my SM-G965U1 using Tapatalk
