Painted 15+ Nismo Wheels?

I was just wondering, but has anyone had the machined part of this wheel painted (with same color as the rest of the wheel) so that its all one solid color? I'm not really a fan of the bare metal machining trend in wheels. Any pics out there?

Yes.

It's called powdercoating. Lots of options :twocents:

Let me know if you're looking for a local option. I've priced it out several times. Best price was from the guy living in a trailer behind the Austin BMW dealership on McNeil :twocents:

I literally work right behind there. I'd like to get some pics first for someone that's done it though (its just an idea for now).

He does a lot of work for dealerships. I bet you could just stop by and check out a variety of wheels in progress. Nothing like seeing the work in person.

He was recommended to me by a former Mini dealership employee. Good guy (bit gruff) that does great work at a great price. Although it's mostly wheel repair for OEM finishes. For some powdercoat options you might want to consider Crosslink, who does much more volume and can do pretty much anything you want. I've heard a few not so good stories through the grapevine several years back, but recently I've only talked with very happy customers and seen top notch work of theirs in person.

Cooltoy's a photoshop wizard. Most likely photoshopped.

The only picture in existence. I used the pencil tool.

Same question, but guess not many have done this?

I'm debating on powdercoating them black, but all the local quotes have been $600-800
(dismount tires, prep, powder, mount tires/balance etc.) and for that cost, I may just sell and buy different wheels.

So I'm also leaning towards just doing it myself with enamel paint and clear. I've painted wheels before and plasti-dipped many but I can never get a good gloss with dip.

I'll post up results with whatever I decide to do this week.
