275/35-19 on Front Stock Sport Rays for track use?
From what I've read, the fitment shouldn't be an issue to run the standard rear tire size on the stock front wheels. My suspension is fully stock.
What I'm wondering is if this is safe for track days (9" rim width is the narrowest acceptable rim width for 275s). My thought is running a square 275 will dial out a bit of the understeer, and maybe help a touch with the sidewall rollover I'm getting on 245s. But, primarily looking for balance and more grip. Currently running Michelin PS4S. Would consider going to a bit more extreme like RE71R at the next change. |
275 is fine on the fronts. Lots of guys run a 275 square with Rays Sports on track.
Try a set of Kuhmo V720's and keep pressure between 32 and 34 psi. Some guys had issues with delamination, but they wore perfectly all day at Sebring. They're hundreds less as well. |
I am running a set of 4 Michelin PS4S in 275/35-19 on the sport rays. A couple of track days and a some autox runs and I like it. The Michelin PS4S have not worn as much as I thought they would but I'm thinking of trying some 200TW tires for more grip.

I've gone as high as 285 on my fronts no issue and I drove the crap out of my car. The only reason I went back to 275 is because I plan on running that size when i go to 18s.
