- I have a high whp Z
- I'm not a fan of the longevity of the R888R
- I can't afford to buy 4 R888Rs every 6-7k miles

So, my thought is this:

- Buy R888Rs for the rear wheels only
- Buy RE71Rs for the front wheels

Theory: The RE71Rs will last twice as long as the R888Rs. If so, then i'll only have to spend the cost of 2 tires when the R888Rs wear out. Then the 2nd time around i buy all 4 again vs buying all 4 every 6-7k miles.

Any recommendations on this? Any cons to doing the tire setup this way?
don't mix treads and compounds like others have stated.

don't be a cheap bastard MDP lol

i put a new set on my Z every year except this year since i only put 3500 miles on last year vs my usual 10-12k. just part of owning these toys.

i just bit the bullet and bought a set of sport cup 2's for the GTR and even though i'll probably only use it 3k-4k miles this year i'll probably wear them out and need new ones next spring and so will the Z most likely.

guess i'll find out in may which tires you go with.

FL 4Motion likes this.
