2018 Base wheel upgrade question

I've had my Z for about 6 months now. Very happy with it but it could sure use some more tire and wheel (18" factory). Lowering the car to reduce the fender \ wheel gap is not something I want to start right now.

IMHO the car needs more tire.

I understand the 18" stock wheels are better for ride quality but since I drive a Z you know that road noise, NVH, etc are the least of my concerns :)

So, I have a line on some factory Rays....19"x 9.5" front 19" x10" rear. All I know is they are off a 2014 Z

I'm thinking that since i own the lowest trim model (no big brakes) there should be no issue with fitment, no matter what model the rims came from.

Any thoughts?

Thank You

No fitment issues. Base wheels fit over the sport brakes with stock suspension. You're going the other way; there will be tons of room. Definitely didn't need to start a thread for this question.

That's what I thought, however I didn't find a lot of information on 2018 models regarding wheel fitment and by the time I buy rubber we're at about 4 grand (Cad) so I thought I'd ask for a little peace of mind.

Thank You for the reply.

$4K CAD for used stock wheels and new tires? Ouch...

I just recently picked up a set of Nismo wheels with lightly used tires for $1500 USD.

Sounds like a pretty good deal to me.

You can do better then 4K.

op, check your local kijiji. There were at least half a dozen classifieds ads for 19" Z wheels.

I will look for a better deal, but the Michelin Pilot Sports are darn close to $500.00 a corner.

So with 19 x 10.5" rear and 19 x 9.5" fronts, what non-square tire size \ setup would be close to max for the car?

Maybe 285 front and 305 rear?, or is that a bit much? 305 might be a little TOO massive on the rear?

Like i said, no plans to drop the car til warranty is over. I know if the engine puts a rod through the side of the block, warranty should NOT be affected by unrelated mods like lowering springs or coil-overs...but I dont feel like tempting fate.

I am keeping the 4 factory 18" wheel \ tire setup in storage and I also have already purchased 4 x 18" RAY replica wheels and snow tires for the Winter.

I know, I know....Winter.....but i can only store one car for the Winter and thats my other car so the Z is going to get driven.

Thanks for the input

You never mentioned PSS before. I guess it depends on the condition.

I didn't explain properly the first time, my mistake. I was looking to buy wheels only, then buy my own tires and have them put on the wheels, balanced, etc.

I am currently talking with a fellow with OEM wheels at a better price than before.
The prices seem to be all over the map...another seller is asking (probably wont see it) 3k CAD for a set. 500 miles only on them.

Sorry for taking the thread off topic somewhat, I appreciate the replies and thank you again for (everyone's) input.

You can expect to pay around these prices for stock wheels with no tires (in USD):

Sport Rays: $700-$900
09-14 Nismo Wheels: $1400-$1600
15+ Nismo Wheels: $1500 - $1800

Thanks for your post and to everyone else who replied as well.

I have purchased 4 19" sport wheels from a 2014 vehicle, they are not 10/10 but Id give them a solid 9. Apparently less than 5k miles but who knows.....the price was over the upper end of the above list from CM370z but I want that particular style etc etc.

When I pick them up this weekend I'll update the thread with fitment (which Im sure will be fine).
