Flat spot after winter storage
So, I got a flat spot after winter storage. Can't feel it when I'm driving but at highway speed it howls like a banshee. woowoowoowoowoowoowoowoowoo. It's awful. I've been driving for a couple of weeks now and it's still there. Any advice? Thanks all.

How long was it sitting? You might be able to drive it out in about 25-50 miles. But the longer it was sitting the more likely it is to be permanent.
Storing the car on jack stands or Flatstoppers will prevent flat spotting in the future. |
They almost always come out with modern tires.

I hope you're right. Two weeks now including a hot weather high speed run and still woowoowoowoowoowoo.

jarblue it was sitting for 6 months in COLD weather.

According to Tire Rack you might be screwed as you let the tires sit in cold temperature fluctuations. In the future, you will absolutely need to get the car on jackstands if sitting for a whole winter |
After storing a vehicle for a long time all winter in cold weather you internally ruined your tires and it is unsafe to drive on them. Definitely replace all your tires as soon as possible. I would start shopping around for new tires.

FWIW, I've been storing various cars from about Nov. 30 to March 31 every year, since about 1998 & have never had a flat spot or howl. Some were run flats, most weren't, garage was unheated also. My garage is insulated with an insulated door & the temp inside was usually 5-10 degrees C (41-50 F)warmer than outside. Sometimes I parked the car on blue insulating styrofoam pieces, eventually gave up on that , used pieces of old carpet, or this year, nothing at all for the Z.:tiphat:

Weird. Stored mine in Ohio cold 6 winters now. Never flat spots.
Sorry man...that sucks. |

Flat Stoppers work very well for keeping the tires round. I have a used set of 4 for sale if anyone is interested. I used them for my previous hobby car with very soft rear sidewalled drag radials at 15 psi. Never a flat spot after sitting for months.
