Have yokohama sports on my E55 and they are for comfort and quietness.. Bridgestone 760s are nice for the price...Check out Kumho MX due to their weight and price,..soft sidewalls tho.. My friend has Azenis and really stiff and responsive,..wear not too bad..

I went an inch wider front and back so I'm sure I can still have some fun with a less stickier tire than the stock Advan.

Michelin Pilot sport 2 A/S plus have the highest treadwear rating of 500. These tires also stick like glue and the raod oise is much less than the OEM tires.

After putting on about 200 miles since Friday's install of the Michelin's, I am pleased with the reduced road noise. Also, the car seems to be a bit smoother on the road bumps. Most of the interior noise now is coming from the rear. I wonder if those rear hatch vents do let a lot of noise in?

I'm very happy with this model of Michelins on our current Acura. However, I've always felt Michelins are overbuilt to accommodate heavier frame cars. They're the sort of thing you'd buy if you put 70K on turnpikes a year, in a 7-series or S-Class. Frankly, I thought they'd be overkill for a lighter vehicle -- one that's more the spiritual successor to the S2000 than anything with 4 doors. However I don't think you could go wrong with any of the top 3 in the tirerack UHPAS survey, which is: Conti DWS, these Michelins, and BT Pole Positions. If anything my eagerness to try the Contis now is more like a Goldilocks & the 3 bears move. But that bidirectional tread would have to be a clincher in a very tight field. |
