NT-05's

I like trying out new things. You can only get so much out of reading reviews, nothing replaces actual experiences hehe. I have driven on RE01R's and I hear these are even better, so they have to be pretty good.

(plus I think I can get a free set )

For what it's worth, the Time Attack Street Class competitors feel the NT-05 wasn't as fast as some others. Most are running the RE11 or the Star Specs. But you are right....opinions will vary. I am really diggin the RE11's.

Sorry "these" in my previous comment was referring to the RE11's. I am definitely looking forward to it.

I've heard nothing but good things about the RE11, but they didnt have the sizes I wanted. Once I get new wheels, I'll throw a set of 315's on there and try them out. BTW, the RE30s on your shop car look amazing.

Man, I'm in a confused state...I don't know which one to pick: Nitto NT05s or Bridgestone RE-11s. They're both spectacular tires and performers. I just can't choose which is better. Guys, give me your input...Tell me which tire to choose and why??? Cause I know most of u prefer the RE-11s, but why????

I think its safe to say they are both excellent choices, but if you take price out of the equation, then the RE-11 has an edge. I wanted to get RE-11's, however they don't make sizes that keep a the stock aspect ratio front to rear until you get into sizes that are too big to run on the stock wheels. (Or that I consider too big for the stock wheels). I had heard excellent things about the NT-05's too so when I saw they offered stock sport 19's sizing, I just went with it. So far I have absolutely no complaints about them. They are stiff, but that gives me tons of confidence going into corners. The only slight issue is cold traction...there is none. Fun for putting around town sideways though.

Another last thing to consider is that the NT-05s are cheaper and have a pretty acceptable wear rate. I think they are excellent sports car tires for those who are performance inclined. But then again, so are the RE-11's so...

Yeah, so I'm sorta split between the two, but I think I'll stick with the NT05s cause of price and having experience with them...

I've only tried the Hankook Ventus V12 and the Dunlop Direzza's on my RSX. The Direzza's were incredible, but were asking for death in the rain. The Ventus I put on after selling the Direzzas, and I was amazed at the very low, almost nonexistent noise levels and the almost on par with the Direzza grip, but real good in the rain. My vote goes to Ventus, and I'll be putting them on the Z when ready. Plus the price is just silly low!

Are you saying that the V12's are almost as good as the Star specs???? Sounds a little odd to me, do you track any of your cars?

No, not as good, but as far as regular driving goes, with the few times I pushed them, I prefer the Ventus. I never tracked the RSX, but this is a street tire poll right? I need to get the Z into some auto-x ASAP

Well, I wasn't being pretentious, I was really asking if you thought they were better. I try not to assume anything about people on the board because instructors tend to be very soft spoken people haha. (aka you never know who you are talking to)

i can definitely appreciate that, i try to be the same way. but most people on boards aren't like that, it's almost like you have to assume they have an attitude! at least from my experience anyway.

People kinda do, but at the same time I think it's all in good fun. Sometimes I know I come off a little arrogant, but its just tough love car guy attitude. I think a lot of people are like that and some others need to just chill out and laugh along.
