I think its safe to say they are both excellent choices, but if you take price out of the equation, then the RE-11 has an edge. I wanted to get RE-11's, however they don't make sizes that keep a the stock aspect ratio front to rear until you get into sizes that are too big to run on the stock wheels. (Or that I consider too big for the stock wheels). I had heard excellent things about the NT-05's too so when I saw they offered stock sport 19's sizing, I just went with it. So far I have absolutely no complaints about them. They are stiff, but that gives me tons of confidence going into corners. The only slight issue is cold traction...there is none. Fun for putting around town sideways though.
Another last thing to consider is that the NT-05s are cheaper and have a pretty acceptable wear rate. I think they are excellent sports car tires for those who are performance inclined. But then again, so are the RE-11's so... |
