How do wheel locks work? (Lost mine, need to get a new one)

the "key" is just a specially shaped socket that fits into the shape of the locking nut your dealership can get you one most autoparts or wheel/tire stores can probably

I was planning on going to Element Wheels tomorrow. They said that they can get me one for $20. I asked them if I need to bring in my car and they said no. I then asked if they need any information about my car and they said no. So I'm assuming either:

1) They know I drive a 370Z (Facebook messaged them), so I assumed it went by make?

2) They have no idea what they're talking about and just want my money.
