Wide body + tire size

So been looking at some ESR S04s and I have a buddy who has a set of 5 and he's letting them go for dirt cheap but his tire size is 225/40/18 and I'm gonna need a beefy look. Might be a really stupid question, but would I be able to go more beefy on the tires or would I be stuck with 225s?

Right now I'm running 245/45/18

Looks like it. OP, what sizes are the wheels? Tire size means nothing since most people today seem to run stupid tire sizes.
