Mackin is ******* with me
Mackin Industries, US distributor for Rays, Advan, etc are some cruel mofos.
Back in May, I ordered a set of TE37 ultras in optional Matte Black. It's not stocked, so 5 month wait is the estimate. No worries. September, they send my retailer these: https://c3.staticflickr.com/6/5463/3...fc10205a_o.jpg Yup, JUST the center caps Today, they sent my retailer this: https://c5.staticflickr.com/6/5711/3...09a94d71_o.jpg Just the rears. Just the rears. Now I gotta wait another week before this: https://c1.staticflickr.com/6/5621/3...76d21167_o.jpg (This full set picture is from Bulletproof Auto, posted on GTRLIFE) My set will be 20x11, +15 and 20x12, +20, Face-4 |

It may have taken a while but you have the product, yes?
As long as they didn't give you the run around, mission accomplished |
Yeah it'll be fine. I'm just amused that it's coming piecemeal. Shoulda all been on the same boat.

I'd rather have everything now

You must be young.

I am old, but it is my first time doing special order. I have heard the stories but only experiencing it now
All previous wheel orders were in stock, which is more or less instant gratification. Even a hood i got special order from some tiny company in japan only took like 2-3 months iirc last week i found a dude on instagram that had the 19 inch Te37 Ultra in matte black, and apparently Mackin is actually STOCKING that color in 19 inch but not in 20. That caught my attention as well Add to that the fact that I wanted these in "M spec" without the machined lip, but was told that required something massive like 10 (or more?) sets to be ordered before they could be produced. |

im 67 and I would never order something and wait 5 months, id do something else, I waited 4 months for my FI, what a waste of time, thought I was smarter than that.

everyone gets to be emo every now and then, indulge me
|
ive been waiting a month on an exhaust and i hate it
|
if anyone is expecting any wheels (prolly any part) from Japan, add another week or so to your wait.
My retailer just talked to Mackin, no container at dock as of Friday and everyone's going to SEMA next week. Will also affect SSR (More-Japan) and i'm gonna guess anyone in the industry. |
:yum:
They will be worth the wait |

Here's one of the fronts with some Project Kics R40 Iconix (2pc) lug nuts w/ optional red caps:
https://c8.staticflickr.com/6/5633/3...2eb67b18_c.jpg It's hard to fully capture the concavity of face-4. Let me play around and get better pictures to illustrate it. I went face-4 so i can get maximum concavity front and rear, there's no point in te37's in you aren't getting them as concave as possible. Tires are Toyo T1R, on order. 275/30/20 front and 315/25/20 rear. Before the tires go on i'm taking the wheels to a body shop to get the machined ring filled in with red if possible. They want to look at it in person. It'll probably be to hard to paint the letters on the ring. The machined "Volk Racing" logo is etched so finely its definitely impossible to pant. The ring should be doable, masking is just gonna be a bitch. |
congrats on finally getting everything in!
I know that feeling...12 week wait for my exhaust and 20 week wait for my works...all part of quality parts. |
Got mines this past week and it has been a long *** wait 5 months to be exacthttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...f910397202.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...ce70f3a23f.jpg

Finally, PROGRESS! I'm on my second body shop and visited with a pinstriper and custom wrap place, all very good shops, but none of them have been able to do what I want . . . UNTIL NOW!
best pic I have for now: https://c3.staticflickr.com/1/679/31...8f267d78_b.jpg 3 of 4 wheels done, hope to have them by the end of the week and on the car after New Years! man, its taken FOREVER incredible work when you realize that all of the machined areas (strip on the edge, and the logo on the spoke) are fairly deeply engraved, and are textured surfaces. The logo especially with the stupid "3d etching" is many, many fine layers but it looks like the shop was able to get the paint to stick and not bleed much, if at all i can't wait to see these person and pick them up |
I could swear by those pics that they are 18"s. If they are 20s though, it must be all the side wall and current ride height.
edit: saw the tires you're running...wtf! That camera angle is making them look crazy small. You have minimal side wall |
I'm assuming you're referring to Jerry's car. He has 19's. Don't know his tire specs.
As for why they look small, i've found that darker colors in general make wheels look smaller than lighter colors. |
Hotness. Want. But I'm poor.
