Default are 45mm spacers SAFE??????

so i got my rims powder coated, wheels and tires installed, but the rears look bad and the shop measured it and said 45mm would make it flush, but ive been searching online and most ppl are saying there not safe and some ppl worry about even smaller spacers like 15-20mm let alone 45mm !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

now im bummed i waste money to powder coat when i should have just bought new rims wide enough without the need for spacers.

i think he said go with H&R spacers. but are those the best?

size he stated i need is 12x1.25 stud, 66.1 hub core, 45mm hub centric

I didn't even know they made spacers that big. Personally that's far more than I'd be co for table with. Is it safe, I don't know that answer specifically.

Sorry to confirm what you already know and need to do.

The unfortunate lesson here is to always try to figure out how they're going to fit besides they look good.

What are the specs?

45mm spacers are just unsafe imo and I would not recommend using them.

I've got 245/35/20 and 275/30/20. The tire was recommended by guys on this thread and theyvery got a ton of good reviews, they even said you can go install it anywhere you want.. great.. now what do I.. I'm still learning things about cars.. wish I knew about the rims being flush before I paid to get them powdered...... sigh

It's safe and I run them! Just need to make sure the hardware is correct! I have 190,000psi ARP studs holding them on and they came with 10.9 studs holding the wheels to them with red locktite. Spacers have been used for years and years ago. 2" plus! You'll be fine.

Looking at that picture you posted I cant possibly fathom why anyone would tell you that 45mm spacers are the way to go... Unless you told them you want your wheels to poke out an inch and a half past your fenders. Posting your actual wheel specs would help figure out how much of a spacer you actually need, if any.

I saw a RWB Porsche cup car with 80mm spacers in the back last week. He's been racing for a couple seasons, so I guess it's fine.

they measured it and said 45mm would make it flush with the fenders

What are your wheel specs? I'm assuming you have the base 18's otherwise the tech is on dope.
