NISSAN 350Z Z33 FAIRLADY VOLK RACING TE37 19X9.5 19X10.5 BLACK

wow, nice find. I always wondered if there were some knock-offs of the TE37. I've realized I can't spend $3500 on the real thing. too bad the offsets on the rear are +22 and not +12 like the volks people are running.

Z1Performance 11-21-2009 07:42 AM

if the hub bore they list is correct, it will not fit any Z at all

I think these are the same ones I have been looking at through another shop. The HB is actually 66.1 (at least that is what they told me). Here they are in bronze.

If you can't afford the TE37, just wait and save more . Don't settle for replicas. There's no satisfaction.

Yep. There's no satisfaction in knowing you saved a couple grand and bought a wheel that will be perfectly sufficient on your daily driven non track car.

vortrex 11-22-2009 12:25 PM

in my opinion it's somewhat ridiculous to spend $5k on wheels/tires for a car that is only $30k. I just can't do it.

speedworks 11-22-2009 01:22 PM

I agree 5k for wheels/tires is ridiculous - unless you are rich. If you want to talk performance, racing, etc, I spend $700 for race tires, and about $1k for my race wheels - just because they cost a lot does not mean they are worth that. Now on the other hand, there are some crap (heavy) wheels out there.

taking the replica side out of the equation, you're talking as if you have some sort of first hand knowledge of the quality of these wheels. That's a slippery slope to travel down IMHO

Tuner350 11-22-2009 08:41 PM

thank you sir

Zerafian 11-22-2009 10:22 PM

*Sigh*..I expect to see people excited about those on the 350 forums..but not here...

Dont worry...once you curb it, a rock hits them, hit a pothole, or something hard in the road you will relize why you should have gone with the REAL thing lol

I guess unless you baught your 370 and making less then 30k a year..barely able to make the payments then I can understand, I was there the first 2 years I had my 350.

I should also mention this, you can get a set of TE's in near perfect condition if you go over to the 350z forums for cheap. People always sell used sets for around $2500 with tires around 60% tread.

dont worry, the real volks get ****** from rocks, and curb damage too. pot holes shouldnt be a problem. my last set of wheels were north of 4k, and i regretted it. for daily, id rather have a set of wheels, keep em for a year, since i change my mind so much.

people use the axis wheels, tsw ect, those are all around 1k for a set too. soon as wheels look like they cost more than they do, people get bent out of shape.
for my car, i dont beat on it. the wheels are for looks, and to use instead of spacers since i dont like them. these fits my needs. i make close to 100k a year, but still do not see the point of spending that kind of cash of wheels for a 35k car. rather save my 2500 for a part of the s/c.

:iagree:

Let me know how the quality is, it may be an option outside of powdercoating my F14's in Bronze.

Zerafian 11-23-2009 08:02 AM

I guess you have more experience with aftermarket rims then me *shrugs*. I upgraded(or possibly downgraded) through the 3 different type of OEM rims for the Z before I got my first set of aftermarkets. I Daily drive me car right at 100 miles a day so Iv already experienced the little things.

I just know from friends and experiences of replicas on the forums the issues that could occur.

And for the record...I wasnt always a Volk nut hugger...before I became a member of the Z forums my opinion on rims wasnt tainted, I liked any rim as long as the color suited me...any rim

mattjk 11-23-2009 10:15 AM

I have wheels on my show ae86 that cost more than real te37's, but i'm not going to daily them here in downtown la where the roads are getting worse and worse by the day. The Z, I do drive daily and I don't want to bend a $3300 set of wheels on a pothole or 4" tall asphalt bump.

Gunzero 11-23-2009 10:21 AM

cool rims

jon

are they actually certified, or are they just stamped that they are certified?

let's not forget, there are other, similar replicas that just came out that are stamped "forged" - and nothing could be further from the truth

Tuner350 11-23-2009 08:34 PM

my theory is you get what you like. and with the economy the way it is my extra money that im saving from buying these is going to savings/my new family. but i dont pose like i have volks(aka fake stickers and sh1t like that) ill have no problems saying the are reps....

vortrex 11-24-2009 10:51 PM

NISMO_Z 11-25-2009 12:26 PM

anybody know if these will fit w/ the sport brakes?

TonyBPD 11-25-2009 12:48 PM

All replicas are not bad. I rocked Porsche replicas for about 2 years on my VW. They were strong as hell!

Kastley85891 11-25-2009 02:34 PM

All about the $$ if they fit, look good and YOU are happy who gives a ****, run em man, I think they look good

Id like to see a ROTA 45 F in black on a White 370Z and I might...

CBRich 11-25-2009 08:50 PM

To imply someone can barely make their car payment and therefore chooses replicas is actually ridiculous. Replica wheels are perfectly fine for daily driving. If a rock chip happens, big deal, you payed near nothing for them. I can easily afford my house, my three cars, my home theater, and everything else I enjoy in life. But I see no reason to pay double the price for a racebred name when my car will never see a track. Simple.

:iagree:

phunk 11-26-2009 05:01 PM

i dunno that authentic wheels are all that strong anyway... they are meant for racing... racing doesnt include curbs, pot holes, and road debris.

i never hit anything of significance and managed to put a non repairable bend in the lip of one of my ADVAN TCII wheels on my 350z. Cost me like $700 between replacement wheel and swapping the tire to it... ya the tire was fine.

them wheels are light as hell.... but i consider them fragile enough that i am not so sure i want to use them as a track wheel because i fear they will require frequent replacements.
