I agree 5k for wheels/tires is ridiculous - unless you are rich. If you want to talk performance, racing, etc, I spend $700 for race tires, and about $1k for

I agree 5k for wheels/tires is ridiculous - unless you are rich. If you want to talk performance, racing, etc, I spend $700 for race tires, and about $1k for my race wheels - just because they cost a lot does not mean they are worth that. Now on the other hand, there are some crap (heavy) wheels out there.
