About to order some NT05r's for my Z, however a couple shops have told me they won't install them because the load rating isn't enough or some bs like that.

NT05R load rating ?
About to order some NT05r's for my Z, however a couple shops have told me they won't install them because the load rating isn't enough or some bs like that. I just need to hear from those of you that have run them that you have or have not had any load related issues. thanks

Assuming these are not for street use, you should be able to find a shop that will mount them. For street use, the shop could be liable if something goes wrong (blowout, etc) and you hurt somebody.

Load rating of the tire should be higher than the rear axle gross weight rating divided by two since you have two tires per axle. The rear GVWR is on the driver side door sticker and it is based on the max load that you can put on the rear axle.
For example, my Nismo rear GVWR is 1942 lbs. A Nitto NT05R in a 305 width and 18" diameter is rated for 1929 lbs. That is more than enough capacity. After all they are d.o.t.compliant drag radials made for heavier cars than the Z. You will be fine. |

I think I found the problem. If you are planning on using a 305-19 tire then the load rating is 1477 lbs. That may be less than the load rating on your OE tire. Contact Nitto and ask them.
