Yeah they are at the limit. I plan to get another month out of them and then get my Hankooks installed.

Time to buy rear tires again, got 17,247 miles out of the Bridgestone Potenza RE-11 285/35R19 I put on the rear, at about 3/32s now.

I checked on our OEM Bridgestone Potenza RE050A & they have gone up $30 since I checked a year ago (now $320 a tire)!

Looking to go back to OEM specs, starting to search the forum for RE050A equivalents (not looking to downgrade in performance, not interested in Hankooks).

Since my OEM RE050A fronts still have plenty of wear left in them (they are at 6/32s) I don't want to replace them yet.

Looks like Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sports are a good option to avoid mixing and matching completely different tires ($233 Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport). Otherwise the Nitto NT05s look mighty temping ($273 http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/tir...75&ar=35&rd=19). I'd probably give a set of these tires a try once I need to replace all 4.

Any other suggestions except the RE760s?

You could try the new Potenza S-04. Compared to the Advan's I had they are quieter, smoother, and don't tramline as bad. Wet weather performance is really good too, with those deep grooves it shouldn't hydroplane eaasy.

How long do these tires usually last under normal driving conditions (never raced/tracked - daily driving to/from work).

Options are to (1) buy a new replacement RE050A, (2) buy a used RE050A, (3) if close to final life if tires, just replace all 4 tires.

Suggestions on tire life and what to do? Thanks.

I hit 7175 miles on my original sport package tires today, and now they are shot. I ordered Michelin Pilot Sports all weathers to replace them. I do not have anything bad to say about these tires and may eventually return to them.

I have never laid down rubber, yet at any rate. I have another week to go on these so I may give it a try.

Any reason why you are not getting RE-11's again?

I am replacing my original RE050's today with new RE11's. Got 28,600 miles on my original tires. 1 track day plus 2 autox days. most of my miles are freeway. My fronts could still go awhile if needed. Gonna go to a squared 285/35/19 setup.

Compared to the OEM rears the RE-11s rear tires introduced
understeer, and raised my back end resulting in a more
cushioned ride.

I think my tires lasted about 15k miles. They are awesome for grip though.

OEM stock 370Z Tires

I would suggest replacing the damaged stock tire with a good used stock tire under the stock front tires need to be replaced. That way you may get around 7,000 miles before the front tires are worn out and extend the time when all four tires will have to be replaced.

Check outethe370Z used parts section. ;)

I have 18,400 approx on my stock sport tires and still plenty of tread. I am taking it to NY and back in about 2 weeks as well.

I drive pretty conservatively. Gas is expensive. Tires are expensive. Tickets are expensive. (and insurance could be expensive with a ticket)

I've only been to the 1/8 mile Immokalee track once and ran it maybe 5-6 times.

Just got my new tires. I changed my mind and got the Michelin Pilot Super Sport summer tires. Odometer read 7250 on the original Bridestones. I could have gone a couple hundred miles more but why put off the immanent?

imho its how you drive and care for them. i DD back and forth and most will disagree but i rotated mine from side to side. most will say its a waste of time
but my tire shop does it for free so what the heck. wish i would have taken
some pics of my bridgestones which i just got 32,000 mile out of. but i take care of stuff. just put on a set on hankook v12's. which imo overall is a better
tire then the oem bridgestones.

sofaonasock 03-16-2013 02:08 AM

32.5k rears and 38k+ fronts! :)
