Wheel weight

Hey guys, Q50 guy here. I'm thinking of upgrading my wheels to the Infiniti Performance Wheel...which is really the 370z rim. Sized 19x9. Any idea what the weight is?

Stock Q50 sport rims are around ~30lbs each, 19 inches. I'm looking to fall in the 22-25lb range. I really like stock rims. Not a huge aftermarket fan.

This is the rim I'm asking about:

Pretty sure they're right in that range. I know the 2009-2012 sport wheels were ~23 lbs. Fronts were 23.2 and rears were 23.8 IIRC.

Just confirming.

Front Wheels (Sport Package): 23.2lbs(10.52kg)
Rear Wheels (Sport Package): 23.8lbs (10.8kg)

yah, 23lbs range. dat's a HUGE improvement from ~30lbs. your braking will be significantly better, probably feel more responsive in the acceleration too.

Is it confirmed that the weight didn't change between 2012 and 2013? Might want to edit your post in that thread to clarify whether the weights apply to both old and new sport wheels or not :twocents:

Think I read somewhere that it was the same. That's why I kept it generic, but another weigh in wouldn't hurt.

Thanks for the replies guys. Yes, 30lbs is pretty heavy. Actually...they're 32lbs. A Q50 Sport Rim with Run flat is 62lbs. The tires (Dunlops) are 30lbs....so were looking at 32lbs per wheel.

My plan for the Q50S Hybrid:

Reduce Weight of Sport Rims by 9lbs each...by moving to sport wheel/370z front wheels. (36lbs total)

Reduce Tire Weight by 5lbs each, will switch from Dunlops to PS2 (20lbs total)

Install 2 piece Akebono rotors at all 4 corners. 10 pounds of each front wheel, 5 off each rear wheel. (30lbs total).

All said I should drop my unsprung weight by ~85lbs. That should net some NICE acceleration/braking improvements and probably nice fuel economy gains in the city. I have the hybrid and keeping it running in EV mode in the city really boots MPG's.

The Q50S Hybrid AWD is already a low low 5 second car to 60 (RWD is high 4's). This should net me a great improvement.

:iagree: that looks like a solid plan :driving:

Woooh those are some heavy 19 inch stock rims. My Vossen 20 inches wheels are less heavy than that and they are not even forged. By the way good plan as well.

Not sure if you saw this.
