New wheels/tires vibration
Sooo i just recently got new wheels and tires specs listed below and i am getting a vibration at around 60+. Even when i am going like 100 its pretty hard to keep the wheel from shaking. I have got them re-balanced and do have hubcentric rings installed. I also had an alignment check done and my wheels are in factory specs. I am also pretty sure i have semi warped rotors because when i brake at high speeds it catches. Before i put on my wheels i did not have a problem at higher speeds. I am here to get an opinion on what i should try first. I was thinking road force balance next but its mad expensive so i dont want to junp the gun. Please help me out with your inputs! It will be greatly appreciated. I also have eibach sway bars that are on the tightest setting.(Im not too sure if that even matters here).

here everyone uses roadforce balance machines,,could be high/low spots on tire/wheel combo, might have to move tires to a different location on the rim,,maybe find a high performance tire shop that is used to this.

ur tire store doesnt offer free road force balancing? wtf?
ur next step is to go to a REAL tire shop and get that roadforce balanced. if that doesnt help it is either your tire is not true, or your wheels are just crap. GL! |
I'm going to have to agree here. Road force balancing should be standard for new tires. Any shop that doesn't offer it or charges for it is not worth your time or money :twocents:

I had a similar issue when I changed wheels. It was corrosion on the hubs from water getting between the hub and the spacers I had on with the Rays. I used a razor blade and scotch brite to clean it off the hubs and new wheels. All's good after that. Hopefully yours will be an easy fix too.

in case of corrosion, maybe use wire brush..

Don't rule out a bad tire. Your installer should be able to detect a bad tire, mine did.
Also, make sure that the balancer has been calibrated. An uncalibrated balancer will cause all sorts of problems. |
I would try balance them again from another reputable tire shop. You can also have them visually inspect the wheel/tire while spinning.
Also ensure the hub rings are correct size and torque the wheels to proper spec. Quote:

I install my own & you may have a bent rim or bad tire; ensure you are at a competent shop.
Regardless if the balance zeros out; the tire could still have radial runout. If one tire takes excessive weight/ Mark tire & rim where the weight is & turn tire on rim 1/2 turn...if it calls for still a high weight- see if weight followed the tire or the rim. A true road force balance machine may not have long enough fingers to reach wheel bolt holes & hit your rim. Should be an easy fix Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
One more thing; they may bring you in to show you that tire & wheel balances out; then ask them to loosen it up & rotate shaft on tire machine,retighten & spin again,,, balancer may have bent shaft/// we have one at work like that.

SOOOO I fixed It! no bent rim or bad tire. Just needed a proper balance. It drives smooth as hell right now. The only thing is I wished they would've road forced balanced me when I initially came in to mount/balance. Oh well, live and you learn
