Rear tires same as front ok?
Looking at some new rear tires and wondering if theres a reason other than asthetics for the different sizes .Fronts are currently 265 rears are 305 and worn out . Is it ok to replace the rears with 265 also so I can rotate perodically

Hmmmm I didnt think of that .Too bad
Currently have 265/35 in front and 305/30 in the rear . I read that the differance in height between the two has to be close or the abs will not work correctly . I cant afford 305's so what would be the correct profile for the 285's in the rear ? |
Probably a 35 for the rear.

go to tire rack, find ur brand u want, they have all the specs on each size,,probably overall width by height(aspect ratio) is most important

Thinner tires up front are usually to combat understeer. The 350 and 370Z platform have a tendency to heavily understeer, someone correct me if I'm wrong in this. While I'm fairly familiar with the 350 platform, the 370 is still slightly new to me.
I feel like you probably expected this, buy why purchase a certain car when you can't afford to maintain it? Tires are a very basic thing that should be looked at cost-wise prior to diving into a purchase. I hope your situation is temporary and you'll be able to save for proper tires in the near future. Best wishes there. Have you cost-checked 295/30s? $400-600 for two of these tires isn't bad. Judging by your readiness to drop down to equal sizes all around, I assume you don't track it or drive aggressively. In this case, you won't need to worry about the best performing tires. What about some Ventus V12 EVO2s? http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....omCompare1=yes I would recommend replacing all tires at the same time, as different performing brands or treads aren't the best thing to have on a car. Other way around. Skinnier tires have less traction. Skinny tires in front so that the owners of the car don't oversteer all day and kill themselves. Similar to porsches. Square set up is fine, you may like the handling better, but be warned, if you do it by shrinking your rears, you will have less traction in the rear.

So for my base 370z car w/ 18 tires I can have 245 front and back with no problems.?
