Adverse effects from using spacers?

Does anyone know if using spacers on the stock wheels would have any adverse effects on the car? Drivetrain, suspension, hubs, brakes, etc? I am considering putting aftermarket wheels on

Default Adverse effects from using spacers?

Does anyone know if using spacers on the stock wheels would have any adverse effects on the car? Drivetrain, suspension, hubs, brakes, etc?

I am considering putting aftermarket wheels on my Z to get a more aggressive look but might go this route since it is a much cheaper alternative. But I don't want to put any stress on the car by using spacers. My thought is that it wouldn't be much different than putting wider aftermarket wheels on anyway.

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks
