Default Tire Size Help

Hi, could someone help me with which tire sizes I should get? I am looking at 20x9 and 20x11 wheels, and don't want to have the stretched/overstretched look or the wrong overall diameter of the package. What would you recommend? Thanks in advance.

Do you have a tire brand/model in mind?

If you want a "normal" look then you need to stay within the tire manufacturer specs, the closer towards nominal the better. The overall tire diameter is listed on the specs page as well. Tirerack.com is a great place to do research.

I want to find the right size first, and then deal with which tire to go with. Have used Tirerack before, and can find diameter deals, but its the width that I have concerns with. I want to make sure they fill the 9 and 11 inch width wheels. I have yet to find a calculator that tells you which tire to put with a size of wheel (in terms of width).

You're ideal diameter range is 26.5 - 27.0".

You're ideal front tire size is around a 255/30, although it will probably be easier to find a 245/35 as there are more tire options in that size.

You're ideal rear tire size is around a 305/25, but that size is practically non-existent. In fact there are very few "wide" 20" tires available, plus you have to consider the width stagger front to back which you probably want to keep in the 20 to 40mm range.

On tirerack look at the "Rim width range" and the "Measured Rim Width". Any tire that fits in the first category and has the correct diameter will fit you rim, although the closer to the second category the better.

So if the tire says it has a rim width range of 8" to 9.5" with a 9" measured rim then it would fit the front perfectly provided the diameter is between 26.5 and 27.0.

I see what you are doing, looking at the Specs of a particular tire size/brand and looking at the width. Thanks.
