For questions about detailing and paint maintenance/repair, search for Junkman2008's comments and videos. If this site's search feature doesn't work well for you, try adding "site:the370z.com" to your search string at any of the major search engines.

The best wheel cleaner I've ever discovered is WD-40. Use soap and water afterwards or the residue will draw dust.

I can see putting some WD-40 (or similar, oil-based product) on a rag to clean stubborn dirt, but don't think spraying it around brakes and tires is a good idea. YMMV

Spray it on a paper towel and then wipe the rim. I've been doing it for years with no issues whatsoever.

i use rc car motor spray to remove tar and stains. no need to wash, just wax afterwards.
but on my hobbycars, i rarely need to use harsh chemicals. just QD and done. oh wait, op was supposed to search. ![]() |

AutO'Rileys has wheel brushes for less than $10. That's what I use to get the barrels cleans.

The easy answer is this: Your wheels are painted- just like the rest of your car. If you wouldn't use it on your hood, don't use it on your wheels.
So the soap and water answers (as well as others) are correct. Have embedded brake dust? Clay or B&T remover. |
