Tagged Tires

So I got around to trying something different. It's slowing growing on me. And definitely not something you see around town at all. Local meets and random people have been saying all positive things about it. I know it's not for everyone, but meh. Different and fun for a weekend project!

POS VETT 08-24-2015 09:34 PM

My tires came with the yellow lettering from factory.

This has been kind of a big trend in the tuner scene maybe for the last 5 or so years. It looks out of place on a completely stock, non-race car though. Regarding the Z, not the Vette.

Thanks for sharing, OP.

Reminds me of the late '60's and '70's. :icon17:

:iagree:

Needs to be kitted, lowered and with aftermarket rims to really pull the look off.

What did you use? There is a site that sells these but it's about 25$ a tire which seems ridiculous. I'm thinking about going to hobby lobby and buying something there.. I want to use this as advertising at autocross for my business

Really?? Granted, I don't live in a populated area. But I haven't really seen this much before on the east coast.

Swifts are chilling in the garage and either Forge's or SAMS will be on next spring. It def looks "off" on stock. Car gets garaged for the winter in a month though. So I'll let it sit for now.

There's popular, and then there is internet popular. This is definitely internet popular.

I have only ever seen it at shows and maybe an autocross event, places where people who are into cars skews past the average.

I agree that the more modified the car is the more this mod fits.

However, I would also add that this is a lot like personalized plates, you are more likely to come up with something dumb than something clever.

My :twocents: if you are gonna do it, just stick with the "tagging" the tire brand.

Time to buy an Amuse kit! :roflpuke2:

All major mods will be coming next year. Already stock piling everything for the winter so I'll have everything ready and waiting come spring time. Just figured I'd get the utmost basic stuff out of the way first. And it's fun (if not kiddish/moronic) to stand out a little.

I can pay with olive oil!! :roflpuke2:

I'm tempted to install the Swifts before the season ends instead of waiting until next year. I'll just have a shop do it. Don't own a spring tensioner anymore.
