If you're parked on the street there's not a lot you can do to stop a thief - he/she has the tools and know-how to get in and get out quick. Either park in a garage (where you can protect it a la JC-Nismo*) or get plenty of insurance.
*If your state doesn't allow you to defend yourself and your property, we welcome newcomers here in AR.
