2011 roadster with 19" wheels
I would like a tire with a little more sidewall. Any info on how big a tire will fit without causing issues?
|
I think you could do 255/40 front and 285/35 rear without issues. You may need some spacers, especially in front to keep from rubbing, it will look better too. Are you stock height?
If you keep the same side wall ratio and add width, you end up with more side wall height. If you use Tire Rack's specs pages with your tire option, it gives you overall tire height of the different sizes. |
If your on stock ride height I dont see why you couldnt go 50 profile if you really wanted to...if they make that size for 19s
|
Yeah; go get you some 195/50/19 that's your stock ride height.... May stretch a bit on the wheel.

245/45r19 on Front 275/40r19 on Rear Putting you at a 27.7" diameter, adding about a half inch of sidewall. Plus, it looks like they are relatively common sizes and readily available from a ton of manufacturers. Also, if you aren't already familiar, you probably should find a favorite "tire size calculator" (here's mine Tire Size Calculator) this tool helps you play around with understand the different dimensions of any tire. With that, and a trusty ruler, you should be able to measure how much room you have for more tire on any car. Not to mention, the forum's search feature (located in the bar at the top of the page). Since, this topic has been literally beaten to death in one form or another over the past 7 years. |
If your car doesn't have the huge brakes; you can get some factory 18's with 225/50/18 Front & 245/45/18 rear...same diameter as yours

if comfort try some continental tires in the stock sizes. |
Yep; comfortable ride....different brand tire @ minimum pressure or put the27-27.5" tires on and run 30-32psi... Gonna sacrifice some fuel mileage though.

Thanks for the info guys. Yes new to forum. Roadster with touring and sport. Sorry didn't get that info on first post.

sorry for delayed response; i'll look again for you.

AntiVenom is probably closest with 245/45 & 275/40,,, gives you about 1/2 inches more sidewall.... I'm assuming you have 19x9F & 19x10R.
Don't want to get too tall, it will slow your bottom end down & look like a 4x4. Just gotta look at different brands: really vary in dimensions by manufacturers...stock is 26.7... So you probably good up to 28"... May want to stay in the 27-27.5" range. Tirerack.com Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
