Lug nut options for OEM Rays
I'm about to mount a new set of tires and I thought I might refinish my wheels as well. Depending on the color I choose I'll have to get new lugs.
I did some forum searching and I'm still somewhat confused... my understanding is that OEM lugs must be flat, not conical like these (which I happen to like a lot). Street Series Forged Lug Nuts, 12 x 1.25mm - Flat Black :: 20-PIECE SET Is this the case? If so are there any options for decent extended lugs that will work on the OEM wheel (which I also happen to like)? |
I had the nipples of the factory lugs painted that way the wrench doesn't chip it.

no good options in terms of replacing the factory lugs.
http://www.the370z.com/wheels-tires/...ge-wheels.html pretty much the option would be to spray them or powder coat them whatever color you want. I'd go with spray paint. I've done it in the past and it holds up fine. powder coat would get damaged just the same as paint in this case |
Pretty much what I thought... dammit. Thanks!

Zspeed carries oem lug nuts in black, about $60 so that's an option to consider.
Edit: It's actually $80 for the set. It seems the price has risen since I last saw it:icon17: |

Does anyone know the taper angle on these? I'm thinking that with a set of conical-to-flat adapters with the correct pitch (and maybe extended studs) I can run these safely on the OEM wheels. I like the Rays a lot and really can't justify replacing them.

Probably 60 degrees.
You should make sure the adapter is as wide as an OEM lug. I don't think they are |

This will surely add extra bling with your new rims.
