Recommendations needed for 2013 Sports package

My 2013 Z has 4/32 tread on back OEM tires and 8/32 on front. They say it's time to replace them.

I don't track but I drive fast on Midwest highways and ocassionally get in the twisties. It does rain here some. Selecting from summer tires in pairs at Tirerack, tires under $850 for 4 tires. Choices are

Potenze S04 Pole position 4 for under $810
Continental Extreme Contact DW
Hankook Ventus V 12 Evo 2
Pirelli P-Zero
Sumitomo HTR Z111
Potenza RE 760 Sport
Kumba Ecsta SPT
Yokohama S. drive

Your suggestions are appreciated.

Well if its only from that list i would probably take the Potenza S04

I agree with VSS370z. I have the S04's on my car. I love them. Way better than than my previous Hankooks.

Edit: I forgot to mention. I have 285 in the rear. They are a bit meatier however when I was buying a full set i saved about $10 per tire so you might be able to save a bit more going meatier but it's up to you.

:iagree: S-04's are good bang for the buck. I have even tracked mine several times. Great in the wet too.

Thanks guys. If you can recommend anything else that is around $800-850 for all 4, let me know. I only checked for sets of 4, since rear and front are different.

Monsters of grip..

I had earlier posted requesting recommendations for 4 tires under $850 and then found the article that includes some of the tires I was considering..

Based on your budget my friend i think those are the best options. There are tires like the RE-11 and Michelin Pilot Super Sport which are a step above but of course are a bit more expensive. Hope that helps! :tiphat:

I have had, and recommend the Bridgestone S-04 for any condition over 30F.

They make the rain feel like the dry, they're pretty amazing.

OH, and this is what i have to say about Sumitomo tires...

OP - have you looked into the Continental Extremecontact dws? I had them on my 335i previously and they were superb! Great handling with low tire noise and good longevity! I sold my car with almost 15k+ on the tires and they looked like they had more than 50% tread on them.

Yes, they are on the list. Hope to make a decision soon but I am also reading that 8/32 in front and 4/32 in back means I can still use my current tires a bit longer so I have some time.

Nope.I traded my 06' 350Z for a 2010 370z and then a year later, traded it to my 2013 gunmetal Z with sports package.

Ok well, I think the S-04s are the only tires in that list that are even close to $850 for a set of four for the sport package wheels. But tire rack seems to have a really good deal right now at ~$800. I would get those.

All the tires on the list are under $850 for 4.

Who is "they"?

I'm surprised that tires need replacement at 4/32 and 8/32" tread depth. While 4/32" is close, the tread is not legally bald until it has reached 2/32" depth. The pair with 8/32" still have lots of life left; high performance summer tires are usually molded with 9-10/32" tread depth; 8/32" is barely worn.
