What do you guys think of these tires?
Hey guys, so normally I run pilot super sports on my Z, but right now due to lack of stock, the only set available before end of May is the Toyo Proxes T1 Sports. I just wanted to get your opinion on these, are they a good tire?

yah, RE11's feel so good and look fantastic too. im never going to run anything else on my Z.
my other choice would be the S04's i currently run on my G35C. those are great tires too, but not at the level of comfort nor grip of the RE11's. |

pretty much identical but the RE has a tread width of 11.1 and the PSS 12.1......but the pss has skinnier shoulders and the RE-11 seems so beefy on the shoulder. hmmm conundrum lol

Sport Maxx tires are not great tires as far as I know. The Dunlop Direzza is more or less on the same playing field as the RE-11s. It might be worth checking out Tireracks surveys to see what wheels might come close. TireRack Extreme Performance Summer Tire Comparison TireRack Max Performance Summer Tire Comparison You will note that the Sport Maxx tires are under the max performance summer tire category, and that they are rather low on the list. Hope this helps! Last edited by AntiVenom; 04-23-2015 at 06:51 PM. |

Also, since you are running 20s your options are pretty limited regardless. (I've been considering 20s for my Z, that's why I know). For me it pretty much boils down to the Michelin PSS being the only really good performance tire for 20s. Unfoirtunately, like you said, they are on backorder, some sizes don't even have an estimate on when they will get more. If you are in need of tires *now* you might consider the Hankook V12, if you aren't planning on tracking them. I had a set on my Sport Rays and for street fun, they will fit the bill. I thought they had pretty good traction. I never tracked them, but I guess the consensus is they get slippery REALLY fast. Last edited by AntiVenom; 04-23-2015 at 07:49 PM. |

The way I always describe the tires (I work at Costco), I always tell em the Michelins PSS' are great for daily but can be tracked. The RE-11's are a great track tire you can use for daily.
I run PSS' for my daily tires at the moment on my Juke and run Nitto NT01's for Autocross. I had RE-11A's prior to the NT01's.

You really need to eventually get the PSSs. There is nothing else like them. I went 245/285 a few weeks ago and the experience was mind boggling. I am in Northern Delaware so it hasn't quite warmed up enough to test the dry traction, but even with 50 degree weather they are awesome . I was making moves in the rain and it was like I was driving on dry road.
