Help with poke and rubbing.
Hey guys right now I'm running 20x10.5 +30 with a 275/35/20 tire in my front. Unfortunately I had to add 20mm spacers the clear akebonos which has left me with some unwanted poke and giving me a slight rubbing issue on some bumps. I'm currently on stock suspension. Do you think if I lower the car on coilovers and maybe add a little negative camber that I'd be able to clear? Or would I have to swap out for maybe 265 or 255? Don't want extreme camber, just want them to clear.

Sorry, but it's true... |
Raise the car 2", or buy wheels that fit.
Really those are about your only choices. |
You can go widebody and cut the fenders to make those wheels fit
Otherwise I think you should sell the wheels and get a new set Good luck! |
255 and you'll be alright

Screwed...

What kind of rims are those? Do yourself a favor and make sure the rims you buy clear the brakes before you purchase them. If you're not sure, you should ask. Better than asking after the fact.

Is there any specific reason why you guys say this wheel won't work? If that's the fact then so be it but I'd like to k ow why so I never make that mistake again.

Ahhh, once again I fell victim of a misleading title. You know, poke and rubbing...well never mind. I was thinking of something else.

No offense, but it's pretty self explanatory. You didn't compensate for your break calipers in your offset. How close is the rim to the caliper? I would start by changing to a spacer that just clears your caliper. If you shave even 2,3,4or 5 mils, that's a start. If you change up to a 255,you'll drop another 10 mils off. And you'll definitely need to run some camber. You'll naturaly get camber from lowering, but I think you'll have to dial it in as well. My:twocents:

Also, you do need a smaller tire like stated above. A 255/35 would be a slight stretch and will give you a little more room. Maybe even enough to make it look good with a drop. |

Smaller tires, lots of camber, etc. might get you to stop rubbing but it doesn't make those wheels fit. :ugh2: |

I am working in Fayetteville/Springdale every week. |
I see you have 3 choices
1. Sell the wheels and get a set that take the Akebono calipers into account. 2. Exchange the brakes caliper for base model calipers  IF you absolutely have to have those wheels :ugh2: 3. Go widebody $$$ Other than that? You're trying to put a bandied a problem thats not going to look good. Good Luck |
Sweet golfcart
Your going to need stance nation level camber to make those work unless you go widebody :stirthepot: |
