Cracked spacer...how big of a problem is this?

So I noticed the other day that my Ichiba 20mm rear spacer has a small fracture. I've attached some pictures. I think I may have been driving on it like this for a while, but cannot notice it, no vibration or anything. Will this be an issue, like replace immediately?

If it was me,I would replace it. I would say your alright on it til you get a new one though.

JC-Nismo 04-12-2015 11:13 AM

You should be ok, but I would definitely change it and send them the pic and if there a good company, they'll send you another one out ASAP. If not, post that pic and blast the hell out of them and hit them in the pockets with future sales from the site.

Someone over torqued them a tad?

ufoz8mycow 04-12-2015 01:00 PM

I'd take it off and send it back to ichiba for a replacement. May not have caused any issues yet but I doubt you'd want it to finally give you a big issue while you're cruising on the freeway or something.

Has been known to happen with Ichiba

Be cautious of spacers - Club Lexus Forums

I have been running H&R for 7 years without issue, would get those replaced

Remove and replace asap would be my advice.

I've always been sure to torque to 80ft/lbs. I'm thinking I'll try to contact Ichiba. Anyone selling 20mm spacers??

Kzonts 04-12-2015 06:01 PM

I assume this isn't a problem with the type I spacers, which require stud replacement. Looking at the pic there's very little material on the edge, so that's certainly a weak point.

Get rid of those type II spacers...

Rusty 04-12-2015 07:45 PM

I wouldn't drive the Z until you remove that spacer. The last thing you want to happen is for that to fail when driving. Because you don't know what kind of damage it will do to the Z and other vehicles around you.

kenchan 04-12-2015 07:55 PM

Yah ichibas are pretty crappy. Get kics or HR, eibachs

Corona 04-13-2015 09:02 AM

I would replace those ASAP. Not worth the risk for such a cheap part.

moore.speed 04-13-2015 10:00 AM

Like stated above, I would also remove this immediately. Sure, it may be fine until you get the replacement but it's not worth the risk of breaking off and damaging much more than just your spacer/wheel.

replace asap. bolt on spacers are lazy. do it right and get extended lugs

Well that's not good. I just put 10mm type 1's on all fours.

JC-Nismo 04-13-2015 03:54 PM

I use Z1 spacers, pretty solid.

corner3garage 04-13-2015 07:49 PM

WOW that is crazy. Our V3 Spacers have never had that issue.

synolimit 04-13-2015 09:59 PM

How many times have you needed to retorque to 80ft/lbs?

Once torqued, I haven't had to re torque them. But I have taken them off and on a few times because I don't like to use them during track days.

kenchan 04-14-2015 10:23 AM

have to say it was bad luck due to terrible karma parking job.. taking up 3 spaces
