How do i reset the TPMS?
Hi everyone I'm not sure if this is the right section but this is the most active one so figured why not. I just recently changed out my tires but now my TPMS light is flashing and staying on. I read the manual and it indicates a malfunction of the TPMS. I believe it just needs to be reset. I really don't have time to go to the dealer since I'm swamped with school and work. Any help would be appreciated thanks!

My GF got new tires for her G35 at a Discount and they offered her a "rebuild" of her TPMS. I believe all it involved was new seals/gaskets and a new stem, but I'm not sure. It was acting wierdly for a long time and we had to bring the car back to the store twice. I'm not sure if it was at the fault of the tech or not but it definitely makes me weary of getting tires at a discount. I'd almost prefer to go to the dealer after our experience.

My understanding is that your Nissan dealer has a tool that will tell the computer to search for the senders and re-register them so that it will correctly report them. I just got snow tires on new wheels with TPMS sensors and I will go to the dealer to do this myself as well.

Kind of along the same lines, but how do you stop the "oil maintenance" light from coming on? I do my own oil changes, read the manual but it didn't help.

^ Does have to be married, but not only at the dealership. As mentioned above many tire shops can also do it, if they have the tool (most do, some don't).

NO the dealer has to reset it. The tire shops will not have the consult II. But most dealers will do it for free. I get mine done on the FX and the G twice a year for my winter/summer rims.

I got mine reset at the tire shop.
Just depends if they have the right tool or not.

^ The guy at my local shop was telling me how expensive the tool is when he was doing the reset. They do a lot of business with aftermaket rims so he said he had to break down and buy one becuase customers weren't happy about being referred to the dealer for the reset.
I used another shop to get my winter tires and they said they have the tool also but I haven't made the switch to the winter set yet so we'll see if they can do the reset when the time comes. If not it's over the to the other shop to get chewed out for buying winter tires elsewhere
