Fairlady, use WD-40 or goo-gone by dabbing it on and letting it sit for a few minutes and then use a hair dryer to heat it up some. It may take a little elbow grease but it should come off. Once it's off wipe clean then use a little wax on the area. You will be good as new.

googone, wd40 is great for cleaning up paper backed adhesives where the paper tears off.

for mounting tape and residue, rc motor spray is the way to go. you'll not need to do any further cleaning.
just spray, wait a few moments, and just lift off. that's how easy it is.

ive tested these rc motor sprays on paint. no issue: EmeraldPlus, Dynamite MagnumForce are my current choices.

Your adhesive doesn't look that stuck on at all, you should be able to use a heat gun and aggitate it with a microfiber towel and it should come right off

If it's old adhesive then you can go with the more aggressive options that people are suggesting

I have one wheel that it's absolutely impossible to remove the residue from

Haven't had the time to remove the residue yet

I'll probably work on it tomorrow

Ok had some time to clean the wheels at last

Used heat gun at first and a dry microfiber towel...didn't work so well so I got a bottle

of goo gone and let it soak for about 5 mins then used microfiber towel to remove the

residue. Took 20 mins for all 4 wheels. Now good as new!

Make sure your wheel cools down first before using anything.

get that can of motorspray. it literally takes less than a minute to remove the weights.

spray, count to 5 or so, peel up.

btw, i can't remember if i tested CRC MAF cleaner on paint, but that stuff is pretty similar to rc motor spray. if you have something painted you dont need, try MAF spray to double check it does not damage the paint.

the electronics circuit spray wasnt the same. i tried that before and it left some kind of residue.
