RE-71R - the RE-11 replacement.

the RE-11 which I recently fell in love with is being replaced (still being produced though) by the new RE-71R. I guess its a remake of the old oem tire

Default RE-71R - the RE-11 replacement.

the RE-11 which I recently fell in love with is being replaced (still being produced though) by the new RE-71R. I guess its a remake of the old oem tire developed for the Porsche 959.

I've been trying to find info on them but most places say they wont have any in until march 1st at the earliest.

I found a 3 part youtube vid with the creator.

I was thinking about trying these but the biggest they are available in are 275/35/19 our OEM sizes. I wanted to continue running my 265/305 setup I recently switched to.

anyone have ideas or opinions on this new tire?

just figured id post to get some general discussion going about them.

No 305?

I just re-did my fronts with RE-11 so hopefully in a year or so when I do all 4 at the same time either the RE-11 is still around or this new model can cover the full RE-11 line.

Looking at photos, these look like they are directional and can be swapped left/right to help last a little longer.

no 305 sadly. and I have RE-11s all 4 corners and I love them. I was happy to hear they are still producing them but I don't know for how long.

my hope is that the RE-71R does well and next year they expand the size range. i'd like to try them in 265/305 combo

I posted asking about them a couple of weeks ago and found a video where the pictures say a thousand words since I dont speak Japanese.
Re-71r tires anyone?

I will be putting them on my car as soon as they are available though. The specs look amazing.

the videos I linked above are translated into English. probably the same ones you saw originally.

I would buy them if they had the sizes I wanted.

I really like the prices well that's comparing 245/275 RE-71 vs 265/305 RE-11 but it's only a $90 difference.

I've got a spare set of sport rims. Maybe I should just run a square set up with rears and 275 tires

squared up all 275s of these could be a pretty damn sticky track setup

If the tires are as sticky as they say they are than that extra width and weight of a wider tire may not be necessary.

I just run stock sizes as I'm NA and no where near reaching the performance grip limits of the tires on corners. I have spun out on a corner a few times in the past but I don't do that anymore.

but stickier and wider = lol

i'm NA as well and there was a noticeable difference in the grip when going slightly wider with my tire selection.

Im late to the game here... but I will be very sad if the Re11's go away. They are the only tire I have been running for years. Go through one set a season. lol

from what i understand they will still be produced but i don't know for how long. i'm with you especially if they don't expand the sizes of the new RE-71.

this past year was my first set of RE-11s and im sad i didn't use them sooner.

For anyone on the stock sport rays I really recommend the 275/35 square setup. I run hankook rs3's in this size and it really transformed the handling of the car without even adjusting any suspension dynamics.

those tires are just subpar compared to a RE-11 or PSS's in my opinion.

also in their class they had the lowest handling rating of the tires tested.
