Just chiming in

Hi guys: I' m mostly just a lurker here enjoying your posts - but this last thread prompted me to chime in. I just bought my new 2014 base with sport package in January and only have 850 miles on it. I am 71 and thinking I am in the running for oldest 370 owner. Started out with MG's in the 60's and worked up through Healeys and 'vettes. Love the z. If you see a midnight blue with tinted windows in Henderson wave back. :)

So, opinions... Octet really wants my SC kit. I really think I just need to run a couple tests and retune for everything to be rock solid again. It would be huge PITA, but there are cheaper ways to make the same power. If I decide to sell, I would only do it if I can move to another kit with little to no additional costs. What should I do?

I would try to tune it and see if your happy. If you can get it where you like it why go thru changing it?

Thanks for the opinions guys. Right now I plan on doing my tests. I only have Sat to work with. I'll be in PHX Monday. This kit should be able to push serious power. It won't make sense for me to rip it off and buy another until I do some testing to see whats going on.

I just hate that you had such unfortunate slowdowns an setbacks. GTM had your car plenty long enough so that everything was worked out and ready to go!!!

Have you contacted them about it? You shouldn't have to be doing any testing, they should have made sure it was 100% before letting you take it.

Hotrodz 03-30-2014 03:00 PM

I think SS has been more than patient and has shown great restraint with all the GTM bashing from those who have and haven't dealt with them. I'm not one to run down a company in public but just state my experience. I do think its time for a stern phone call and ask them to pay for the test to be done some place else and then decide it he wants to deal with them for the fix or move on. That said, either way I would be moving on since there is no guarantee and even though they are willing to fix it at their expense, I'm out a vehicle and inconvenienced. Time is money or in this case pleasure and I don't compromise on my pleasure. That is one thing that comes with age, I don't put up with BS!!!
