Question for you Hotrodz. With me wanting my tune cleaned up and my meth tuned, I was debating with my wallet to have Seb do it. His prices aren't cheap, but I know he's good. His tuning and service need to be effing outstanding for what I'll have to pay. In his blog, he quotes I have to do a $125 inspection before it goes on his dyno, tuning is $550, and for him to touch up my DD tune, it's an extra $200. On top of that, he has a list of things for me to check on my own that I have 0 time for atm. Not only that, I haven't the slightest clue on how to check for boost leaks. I'm hoping you can give me your thoughts rq on what you thought.

SS, I hear you about the cost, but he is worth every dime. Other shops around the Nation and Canada fly him and Greg (his partner) out to do tuning sessions. If you have not already done so, I would call him and talk to him about what you want to achieve. If you have your UpRev cable it's is about $500 for a tune session. He is going to take his time and tune it right. He is very familiar with GTM products. As far as checking for boost leaks, I stumbled across a YouTube video and it is pretty simple. The guy just added some dishwashing soap with water in a spray bottle and sprayed all the connection where you might have a leak. If you get bubbles you have a leak. The deal was to do this on a cool or cold engine start so not to water spot all the shiny parts.

I am confident you will have a good experience with Seb. He is very responsive and is always there to provide you with good advise. I have also recommended Seb to Infamous as well. Here is what I know: Seb did the first tune on my car when it was NA and I had no issues with it and it ran strong. He has since installed my TT and tuned it as well and I have just passed the 3K mile point and I have not had one single issue with the TT or tune. The car seems to be running stronger than ever. Heck, Brian H. that splits time with BJ in the Nissan 14 car went to him to get his personal 300z tuned, so I would say that is not bad company to keep!

Good luck my friend...maybe we can head that way together as I need to get a tune for 100 octane.:driving:

I blasted him an email earlier today. Maybe if all three of us roll in, we get discount lol. That'd be a fun trip up too. It'd be really good PR for him too as he'd be tuning three different boosted cars in three configurations that should be pushing similar power. It'd be looking a tuning faceoff lol

Hotrodz 03-09-2014 06:33 PM

I like the way you think....

Infamous 03-09-2014 06:44 PM

Oh my. Let's do this. Let's get him here instead. I think it'd be cheaper! Maybe we could see if anyone else is interested as well.

Infamous 03-09-2014 07:05 PM

Just saw a Pearl white amuse on bd and Decatur. Anyone in here own it?

Hotrodz 03-09-2014 07:10 PM

He also does tuning for GTRs as well. I think it would be a matter of finding a shop that has a dyno that he is comfortable with, the cost to rent the dyno, the number of people and covering his lodging and maybe other expenses. I down with whatever, cause it will be a blast no how we do it.

JENZ 03-09-2014 07:26 PM

Ugh. I need several thousand dollars so I can play too.

Infamous 03-09-2014 09:18 PM

Bet Red. Lol jk. I need to stop spending money on my other hobbies and do a few more things to my car.

Hotrodz 03-09-2014 09:25 PM

I don't have any money to spend on my hobbies because my car LOL!

Infamous 03-09-2014 09:27 PM

Lol but it's well worth it. Not too many people can say they have a fi z.

Hotrodz 03-09-2014 09:32 PM

True that...it was pretty cool that morning at C&C, folks kept going back and forth between our cars. We definitely need SS to join us. I think I'm in Vegas more than he is!

JENZ 03-09-2014 09:39 PM

What I really need is to get all of you to an uprising meet! I am the only 370. Think of how many craps would be had if three FI z's showed up!!!!

Speaking of spending money, I just had my Z1 lightweight 2 piece slotted front rotors and red stuff brake pads installed. I bedded them in yesterday and they are great. Much easier turning and the car seems more nimble. My wife drove it today and was like "wow, I got to get use to your brakes they really responsive."

I've been eye raping some 2 piece fronts for a while now... My one piece slotted ones are still so new though.

I need to resurface or re bed my pads and rotors. /:
