that being said: i'd have to happily disagree (so far) on 220 being a "cool" operating temp in traffic w/FI's oil cooler... the reason i bought tony's mod was because i was always runnin' 220, sometimes 230, last spring/summer even in light traffic, short trips... now, it takes a while to get to optimal temp 190 and with spirited driving up to 45 (50) into 4th gear around town i approach and then run at 200 and sometimes that cools down. if'n i run the 215 for 40 miles or so she stays closer to 190ish...which, ironically, i'm afraid will be too cool in the winter months... all in all, very glad i bought the unit...happy with mr. ryan's install and pricing, and hope all is WELL with you guyz... must say, thou, have not been stuck in freeway traffic yet...fingers crossed... |

Vegas Speak Up!
Different than my experience. While it's unusual to hit 220 right away, at 5pm when it's 106 out and I'm driving home from work, it does happen. That's when the torque cut kicks in. I only live 7 miles from work but it's not freeway travel and it is in traffic. I also have the FI cooler.
One thing that may be impacting yours is the fact that you've got three extra quarts of oil flowing around due to your oil pan upgrade. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hey guys sorry I haven't been on the forum in a while. I'm in Puerto Rico! Anyways, oil temps were barely 220 because I was at about 6000 ft elevation in traffic climbing up Mt Charleston. Outside temps were around 95 degrees. So yes I think the f.I. oil cooler does an excellent job at keeping temps down. On top of that I was doing flybys at 9000 ft elevation as you can see in my exhaust video. Temps never passed 220 degrees. I hope this answers you're questions.

Hi guys, I don't think any of the posted temps are high given the extreme heat. I'm boosted with the same oil cooler, Greddy oil pan, zSpeed under tray and my temp will vary between 195 and 220 in traffic depending on how hard I push the car and whether or not I have clean air. I the winter my temps are between 160 and 180, but I can get them higher if I run at higher rpm levels. I don't have a sandwich plate and so far so good. I think the key in the winter for me as I'm at 3500' is to let the car and oil temps warm up before making the engine work hard.

Conclusion: The extra oil capacity of the greddy and/or that company who is dropping the ball's oils pans make a difference.

Tomorrow we are attempting a fiberglass mold of the 13+ lack of fang area so I can make a carbon fiber lip thing similar to what Evo-r makes for the 12's and older.

EOS showcase is this Saturday at veterans memorial park in Boulder City. Should be a really big car show. We are participating with our car club. You guys are welcome to check it out. Spectating is free and show goes until 10pm I believe.
