They had one of those virtual open houses where the dean and assistant dean respond to your posts, here is one I recently sent them:
Afternoon Gents, Thanks for opening up a line to us. I do have some things to say, please take them as constructive criticism and not griping; or at least as constructive as criticism can be typed out in essay form. I transferred over from University of Phoenix because GCU advertised in a magazine that it would be offering a degree in "Occupational Safety." When I called to enroll however, I was told that it wasn't quite ready to go quite yet, but if I enrolled in "Public Safety" I could transfer my major to the new "Occupational Safety" program after a couple months. A couple months pass, Jennifer Martinez,) who I had been working with), left GCU, and now no one I speak with even knows about the "Occupational Safety" program. Your academic advisor told me I was confused, because if there had been any talk of a program like that, she would know about it. I sent her a scanned copy of the magazine, which I have also attached for you, and she had nothing to say. By the time I learned I had been "bait and switched," I was several courses into the "Public Safety" course, and now would lose thousands of dollars and several months spent if I left GCU. I've never received an explanation as to what happened to the "Occupational Safety" degree you boasted. I need tuition statements showing tuition paid for individual courses for my company's tuition reimbursement plan, but Web Advisor doesn't provide them. I have to call the business office every semester to get something I can use, which is simply text pasted into an email. I have to format it manually and convert it to PDF before I can use it. The separation of Angel, MyGCU, and Webadvisor leaves much to be desired. I'm sure all the students would prefer a central place that has everything we need, including our classes. As a continuation of the above, Angel, MyGcu, and Webasvisor are dreadful programs. My comments mirror many of my classmates: Constant resizing of the editor window while typing is mind-numbing. So I'm forced to type things out in Word and then cut/paste. I have seen students mildly complimentary of the system, and have to wonder if they have experienced anything else. I have attended online college at UOP, and my wife has attended online at NAU; so I know the difference between good and bad. I question how you force us to take your polls/surveys to finish our classes. There is something blatantly wrong with blackmailing students with their grade. This is twice as audacious since we never even receive feedback regarding the issues we informed the school of. My comments also mirror those of Academic Advisement. One of my first classes was a repeat of a class I had taken at my previous University. I figured the class had not transferred over, so I took it again. When I was able to find my classes that had transferred, I discovered it did indeed transfer, meaning I had taken it again for no reason. When I called to ask about it, the person I spoke with was very accusatory toward me, telling me I should be paying attention to my classes and what I need/don't need. If that response is true, what do I need them for? Give me the ability to pick my classes, fire them, and lower the costs to the students. |

Illegal to tint lights?
So I am wondering if it is illegal to have any kind of tint on your headlights and tailights. I was told that here in Arizona you can go as dark as you want on the rear but none on the front. I was wondering if anyone could confirm this. Also, anyone have any idea what a ticket like that would cost if you were cited for having tinted headlights?

I know, really. I'm not gonna do the car show, but hopefully I'll be done early enough and get some sleep so I can make it.
