You can't go wrong with a solid JL Amp.. I had one in my first car. Forget the model..

I ran my last sound system with Performance Teknique because I had was 2 12" Kicker L7's.. it needed alot of juice, so i bought 2- 2000 watt amps for $200 each.. They worked great. 1 year warranty as well..

I know some people will say you need a very expensive amp, but really, if your not going to be pushing your system to the limits everyday.. you dont need a $500 amp for a single 12 or even 2 10"s. -- I would find a big 5 channel and run your speakers and one subwoofer off the amp. Save cost and you can buy a nice big amp with the money you save by not buying one for your speakers and one for your sub?
Thanks for the info. I will look in to doing one amp.. that's what I did in my old Firebird.

Do you have any thoughts on JL Audio's stealthbox? It seems pricey but I wonder if the sound and build quality is worth it?

I was just looking at that earlier .. didn't even know it existed until today. Is it still possible to get in? I thought I read that tickets were sold out.

Only thing i can tell that is sold out is:

"Friday 21st, is SOLD OUT at the primary hotel. The secondary hotel will be the Sheraton Resort and Spa at Wild Horse Pass. Visit the Hotel page for more information on the secondary hotel."

You can register there apparently.

Hello fellow AZ drivers. I come from the NASIOC (subaru) forums to see if there are any datsun (hah), z drivers in the Flagstaff area interested in getting a weekly meet up going, and possibly some day trips here and there. Obviously not restricting the meetups to just subaru drivers, so if you know anyone else in the area into faaaaast let em know about it .

Anyone in Phoenix ever do track days? Thinking about trying it once I get my Z...

dile02 10-27-2012 05:45 PM

I just did one yesterday at Firebird. ProAutoSports runs track days monthly. Lots of fun.

Do they have instructors that'll ride along?

I'm thinking you may have to end up paying for the class, such as Bondurant or the one over here in West Phoenix.

Though, I must say I have the itch now to do some sort of track driving - I did the Raptor Round-Up at Firebird and even at 30-40mph, jumping the Raptors on a dirt course was a blast.

Though, it's a bit easier to be excited about it when it's the first time you've ever done anything like that (aside from Speed Street/F1 Race Factory go-karts).

Yes, instructors ride along. Your first time, they actually require a short training class and the instructor must ride the first session. You will get 3 more 20 minute lapping sessions that same day and the ride along is up to you. Also, the instructors are always available to ride at any of the track days. Great resource for learning new tracks and techniques. They will be having another set of track days Thanksgiving weekend at Firebird if you want to see. Also, some pics of last set on sandersracephotos.com. I highly recommend Trying it.

So, who are the reputable clear-bra installers in Phoenix? Preferably the West side.
