We are holding another Charity car Show along with another AZ Based Forum ... should be a blast. Ill post info here and start a thread!

AZDriven & Intense Power Car Meet and Food Drive July 17th!!!

When: July 17th, 2010 12Noon-4PM
Where: F1 Race Factory
Why: Figuring we are all fortunate enough to own cars and there are people here in AZ struggling to eat, can't we help everyone out? We are going to be doing another meet at F1 and asking everyone who attends to bring at least one canned or non-parishable food item to donate.

I have contact AMP and they will be there. They will stay the duration of the meet and will be giving out free amp for attending people. We will be doing a raffle again, we have some things left from the last meet. I will have final details over the next few days.

All food donations will go to St. Mary's Food Bank.

(Bring a can of food and receive 2 for $25 races)

Please post up if you are going to attend. I know it will be hot but in F1 it will be nice and cold. Don't forget the races. I will see what deal we can work out. Remember, this is to help people who are less fortunate, let's get as many cars there and as much food brought in as possible.

We will organize a cruise afterward to AZSRA Event at Speedworld, everyone that can go leave F1 about 430ish and roll to speed world. I think this will be pretty fun ride if we all roll together. I would love to see AZDRIVEN roll in with 20-30 cars. Let me know what you guys think.

Hey guys. Been following this thread for a bit. My wife and I are visiting the last week of August to check out AZ. Hopefully we'll be moving by the end of the year, so we're looking at places to live. Any places we should avoid? Area's you like? Scottsdale and surroundings are out. :shakes head: We're not that well off!! How about places to see? Phil @ Vivid is on my list. We're staying @ the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass, so anything close-ish would be great. Thanks in advance for the info. :tiphat:

:tiphat: Welcome to Hell on Earth lol. First off I have to ask so its done, overwith, and out of the way... Is your wife your avi? :bowrofl:

Ok, now that thats said... Phil @ Vivid is an Awesome guy! All the guys at Vivid I talked to when I went there were really cool and they hooked me up with my baselines, so I recommend them.

Lets see, places to avoid...

Metro Center (Ghetto)
Sun City/Surprise (Unless you like old people)
Once you learn the roads here, there is a road called Van Buren Ave. Pretty much Anywhere south of that road, is Ghetto lol. But if you ever need a quick fix of pretty much any illegal substance, Van Buren is the ticket! :ugh2:

Scottsdale/Paradise Valley is where the rich people are, so its up to you how close you'd wanna be to there. Paradise Valley Mall is ridiculous because you'll see these blinged out Escalades and Armada's pull up and drop off a load of kids @ 11am, and then those kids will just wander the mall all day until their parents come pick them up @ 6. lol It's hilarious. $500 and your friends in the mall shopping all day... Wonderful parenting... :ugh:

It depends though on what you're looking for, the West Side is very spread out and slowly growing, whereas the East side is pretty compact. So nothing is too far to get to, but you have zero space.

Hopefully this helps you out a little bit, and welcome to the area!

I'm guessing you're not making your way down to Tucson..., that's too bad. Tucson and Phoenix maybe close but really are completely different in atmosphere and people.

Phoenix is generally 5-6 degrees hotter than Tucson, has more of a Metropolitan, big city feel to it, and has more of a republican flavor to it's politics. But I love both places and hope you enjoy your visit and find a great area to live in.

Also, never confusingly call Arizona State University (ASU, the Sun Devils), the University of Arizona (U of A, the Wildcats) and vice Versa. We take our college athletics very seriously down here! :stirthepot:

By the way, you'll be visiting during the monsoons, so pack umbrellas and good rain jackets and be wary of underpasses when driving once the rains begin (flashfloods).

Welcome to Arizona! :tiphat:

And with that, just FYI they have the 'stupid drivers' law where if you see the road is flooded and its marked that it could flood, and you still drive through it, if you get stuck, YOU cover the cost of everything it takes to get you out. Helicopter, fire/rescue, gas, taxes, salaries of every worker that comes out... the whole shebang...

Not saying your the sort to do so, just something to think about and remind yourself that intelligence is a good thing.

It's not that bad out here. 9 months of beautiful weather and 3 months of hell. Not a bad trade off.

Arizona is random as hell. Mesa has its nice and its not so nice just like Scottsdale. To say all of Scottsdale is nice and for the rich is incorrect, there is some major hood in SNOTTSDALE.

Stay out of the Ave's (West side) for the most part if you can

Gilbert is really nice and some parts of chandler as well.

Be sure to visit us at Intense as we are a pretty good bunch of folks too. Some on here and in this thread used to think so and I hope thats still the case. LOL

We're honest and not just out for your money. I'll leave it at that.

Enjoy your visit and feel free to ask any questions that you may have.

OH yeah - directed @ cmmonte92 "GO DEVILS GO!" "GO DEVILS GO!" ... U of what? the wild whats? Never heard of em.

Awww Intense!!! I never knew you were so soft! lol

^^ True though, they are an awesome bunch of guys as well. Would highly recommend them too. Only problem for me is BOTH of them are right up the street from eachother... However comma... on the OTHER SIDE OF FREAKING TOWN!!! :bowrofl: :roflpuke2:

Why doesn't 1 of you move out to the west side and run a gold mine over here. It would be so nice to have a shop close by... they would get my business for sure! :wink wink:

ROC1ROB 07-16-2010 04:53 PM

First of all, the avi is not my wife........... hell you guys would always be at my house!!! :shakes head: Hell I wouldn't leave either. Thanks for the info. We're looking at the Laveen area or east down to Queen Creek. We'd like a little space between houses but...... Is Luke AFB busy????

My wife is an RN, so we'll probably get something close for her. Most likely she'll get a job in an emergency room, perferably trauma 1.(She hasn't pick one yet) Me, I'm a machinist and don't mind to drive, so it really doesn't matter.

Sorry Intense, I forgot you guys were here too. Does Darrin still work for you? I bought an intake from him for my G. I'm not use to having sponsors any where close to where I live. :happydance:
