After our day of tyranny abuse (I hammered the box with several rough shifts) the synchro mesh into 5th is shot. It now grinds into 5 no matter how carefully I shift it. (again a common failure mode on the 6MT reported in numerous threads)

The good news is I only have 42k miles on my Z so the dealer is swapping a new gearbox under warranty. I cant wait to drive the new box

pps. Shadezz is helping me powder-coat my wheels while the z is up on the dealer lift. (Thanks again Shadezz) The car is going to come down off the lift wearing a new tranny and new powder-coated rims. All in all I'd say the track beating has done my ride a world of good.
Your wheels are getting done as this post goes up...

In related news, Shadezz and I are doing a brake/wheel day in the next week or so.

were putting on:
1. ss brake lines (both of us)
2. spacers (I'm doing 15mm front 20mm rear)
3. (I'll be swapping out some front brake pads)
4. Shadezz is thinking of doing rotors (Z1 slotted, floating?)

Anyhoo If anybody in the Denver Z crew wants in, I say we make a day of it!
(At the least bring in some Motol RBF 600 and we can bleed in some high temp fluid to get your ride track ready!)

We can set a date and location here in the thread if there is any interest.
(SS brake upgrades are available online through Z1 motorsports for about $125.00 + a few bucks for dot4 fluid)
