Don't see a Colorado Springs thread anywhere so I figured I'd post here. Just arrived in the 719 area code last week. I'm coming out of Yorktown Virginia and I drove my 370Z the entire length. Tennessee and the western part of Virginia were by far the nicest parts of that drive until I got closer to the springs.
I look forward to getting to know and ride with 370Z Colorado crowed. I want to take the Z up to Pikes Peak real soon. |
careful going up Pikes Peak, local law enforcement know guys like to do their own hill climb time attack. I urge you to keep that in mind going up it!

I"m headed out to high plains raceway this Friday from 0700 to noon. Anybody want to come out and do some lapping? Ive posted what you need (which is mostly just a helmet, which can be rented for 20 bucks if you don't have one) somewhere up on this thread.
Here is a bit of cut and paste... 100 bucks and a helmet is all you need (well a car helps too) Stock setup is fine and bill who is a pretty good driver and I would be happy to show you the ropes. Ive never seen anybody hurt a stock car out there (drive to your comfort...its NOT A RACE) you will likely: 1.use up a bit of outside tread on your left front tire. 2.burn up a little bit of your brake pads. 3.have a BLAST! After the track day I go back up to conifer and swap out my pads (for streets) in the garage. Pick up some pads and I'd be happy to pop yours in (or show you how) too. A lot of guys are pretty happy with OEM pads so if thats all you can find bring them allong and well put them in at the end of the day. Also its a good idea to bleed your brakes before hand (take out the DOT3 for sure and put in DOT 4.) you need two people but if your already jacked up doing your pads its a 5 minute job. |

Resurrecting this old thread.
Anyone still here in the Denver/COS area? It's getting to be nice weather so I'm threatening the garage queen with some use. Just posted today in the Engine/Tuning forum about struggles with local emissions, but once I get those on track I hope to get out for some cruising and track time. If anyone here has had success completing a drive cycle (evap and catalyst) after clearing codes and has any magic, please hit me up. I need to get updated tags ASAP. Cheers! |

Good news! Got my emissions sensors finally to come ready and now have my tabs. I'm SO relieved to be over that headache. Crazy story about reversed evap hoses and my Cobb AP presumably suppressing codes/ready states. Anyway. I'm back on the road and would love to get out on a drive this summer with some folks or maybe even a track day. Sadly, as I was checking out the exhaust issue, I did notice my rears are starting to show some belting, soooo I'll be selling my soul to the tire man for a new set here soon. Damn the toys.. |
Alive and well. Find the VQCO facebook group. Seems there are more lively people there.
