Surdog..looks like your all geared up for some boost. You going that route soon?

SurfDog 06-17-2014 05:58 AM

Yeah, I'm thinking about a Stillen supercharger. I'd love to turn some laps with you in your rig to feel the difference boost makes on the track. (current power is definitely sufficient on the street.)

Stillen because my ride will be back in Cali one day and I'd like to keep her legal...ish.

Hey Colorado folks. After a long bit of lurking and finally picking up a 370z, I thought I'd pop in and say Hello. Looking forward to any upcoming meets, track days, shop runs, etc. Was part of the local Mazda scene previously, though I had a Dodge Caliber SRT. Excited to link up with some of the local Z folks on here. Not alot of 370s around at this point but hopefully we can grow that.

Let me know if anything is coming up and I'm also looking for a good quality shop in the area.

Shadezz 06-25-2014 09:15 AM

Welcome to the nissan family!!

Korlor04 06-25-2014 11:30 AM

Hello all! I'm kor. I've been lurking around for quite some time and recently purchased a 370z back in march of this year. Thought i say hello to you all. Looking forward to future meets and track days.

Chuy 06-25-2014 09:39 PM

Lets get hot and set something up for next week, meet up at Castle Rock again. I don't know any roads to chill on but I'm sure someone does!

MAC autosports in Parker is a pretty good shop. They did my Diff, oil cooler and a tune. All good stuff!:tiphat:

SurfDog 06-25-2014 10:03 PM

I'm doing the Colorado exotic car club lap day this week at HPR. I'm also thinking about hooking up with the Z car club. I'm working Fridays all summer so am hosed for Thursday nights and Fridays until September. (bummer)

Chuy 06-26-2014 10:43 AM

I second MAC, they are sponsoring a car for the hill climp so I don't think there is much going on at the shop untill the race is over.

Korlor04 06-26-2014 10:54 AM

CHUY: Go ahead and set something up. Meet in either Highlands Ranch or Castle Rock is good. Nothing south of Castlerock and North of Loveland. I'm right next to DIA and don't want to drive any further than an hour.

Chuy 06-27-2014 12:25 PM

Lazy, anyways lets do this:
Outlet Mall in Castle Rock 1PM Sunday

I swear to God if I set another one its going to be in the Springs!

Also anyone in the Springs wanna cruise tonight hit me up 719 3604109

change 1 I'm out I won't be headed out Sunday. I got invited to Fan Fest for PikesPeak Hill Climb

SurfDog 07-01-2014 12:37 AM

Hpr was fun on Sunday. You guys need to start coming out and lapping your rides!!!
There were a ton of lotus out there and the Z blew their doors off!

Crypto2k 07-01-2014 02:34 PM

Hey guys. Thanks for the confirmation on MAC. I've done a dyno day there in the past with the local Mazda club and they were very nice and accommodating. They even grilled for us. Would be nice to get one going with the Zs.

I need to get plugged in to the track days (never been) and meet ups. I missed the notices on this thread for the ones recently.

SurfDog 07-02-2014 08:00 AM

having been to both, I prefer open track days to club events. The last club event was filled with super cool cars, and nice people, but was way over regulated with 4 different "groups" taking turns on the track. I probably only ran for about an hour the whole day due to waiting for my group to have its turn. Also they had a lot of no passing zones so I sat behind slower cars a lot waiting to get to a passing lane. (a bit frustrating)

open lapping days are way more laid back and you can come and go from the pits as you please which is better for sitting in other cars while you or your car cool down.

I have ridden in lotus, vettes, 911s, GTRs, mustangs during open lap days. There was a McClaren some farraris and a few other exotics there at the club event, but the schedule didn't allow for me to try and schmooze a ride. bummer.

SurfDog 07-02-2014 08:30 AM

By the way, I finally chased down my o2 sensor engine light codes to leaky HFC gaskets. I've installed Zspeed gaskets and Silicon sealer, and my codes are gone and my exhaust sounds right again. It was tight doing it without a lift, but saved me a couple hundred bucks labor. (the bolts were a bitch though and required an impact gun to bust loose)

New Z member here from Lakewood (Denver Area)! Hit me up with any car meets or anything like that.

I rarely see other Z's out in the broomfield/ northglenn/ thronton/ westminster/ brighton area. These are usually my pride grounds so i don't venture much elsewhere. I'm pretty we can all agree that the Z is a horrible choice of car to drive on the daily here with our super bipolar weather! I think the reason we rarely see other Z's is that they are not daily driven vehicles. My Z only sees the sun during weekends. For the daily commuting and menial chores requiring some form of transportation, i have a a little go getter of an SUV to throw around in.

Crypto2k 07-10-2014 04:30 PM

I could be down for this. Funny I was just thinking we should arrange a meet at this place. If no one is coming from the springs, there is also a Crave in Highlands Ranch. Always hear great things. I'm also located in Thornton and normally stay on the north side, however, given my new plates haven't come in yet, I'm on a temp plate, and thus can drive on the toll way for free. :)

I'm thinking of doing the Z1 400 hp upgrade and will need a tune after. I'd be up for a tune day after my big install.

I think this is right up your alley...mine too...cheaper and should be more reliable. Although you might have to rid the berk exhaust parts to accommodate the z1 package...

Yes I might have to drive to this...as far as other z's, buddy I'm everywhere!! You can find me in Lakewood, Thornton, Northglenn, Westminster every day!! Also I will disagree with the fact that these don't make good daily drivers...I've driven over 55k in the last two years here in the Denver metro area..:tiphat:also I think Surfdog can confirm he gets around and packs on plenty of mountain to dia miles every year.

Korlor04 07-11-2014 10:19 AM

SHADEZZ, THESE ARE GREAT CARS! PERSONALLY, WITH OUR WEATHER SITUATION, I DON'T LIKE DRIVING THE Z WHEN IN MONSOON THUNDERSTORMS OR SNOW. MAY-SEPT DRIVING WOULD BE OK DAILY, BUT CONSIDERING THE WINTER CONDITIONS, I WOULDN'T MAKE THE Z MY DAILY DRIVER.

CANCEL THE CRAVE REAL BURGER MEET, LET'S ALL JUST GO OUT TO THE CARS AND COFFEE MEET IN PARKER THIS WEEKEND. PROBABLY ALOT MORE PEOPLE WHERE WE CAN SOCIALIZE WITH OTHER AUTOMOTIVE ENTHUSIASTS.

I'M GAME FOR THE BELOW.

Depending on the weather outlook I might make it down to C&C tomorrow, bit of a monsoon just came through up here. Rain and thunderstorms seem imminent starting around 1130-Noon tomorrow last I looked so will have to see how it shapes up.

If I make it out, hope to find a few of you there.

Cars and Coffee today had some nice cars!!

I just have just missed you. Nice cars for sure. Comedic award goes to the Ferrari with two baby seats in the back. Only because I wanna be those kids. Was his daily driver over his Jag F-type.

Fwiw a guy I spoke to said Coffee and Cars in Lafayette is huge. 400+ cars. I expected the opposite so will have to check that out some time.

Best part is the rain held off.

Shadezz 07-12-2014 12:56 PM

Crypto...Cars & Coffee in Lafayette is way bigger..Maybe I'll hit it up next month.

100 miles round trip to work. I always take the z over my sequoia or 330i. Good mileage and man do I love climbing 285 up to Conifer in 350+ hp Z.

I definitely pack on the miles and I do it year round. I only back off for standing snow. This car is pretty bad in snow. Great in the wet though.

futurez 08-04-2014 07:12 PM

Moving to Denver is the next month! soon to be another Z in Denver, can't wait to hopefully meet some of you guys! I'd love to hit up a track day.

Crypto2k 08-04-2014 07:35 PM

Let us know when you're here and I'd be down for a meetup. Some good roads here that need exploring and food to be eaten!

futurez 08-04-2014 08:01 PM

Can't wait, because the roads and traffic blow in PA!

PA as in Pennsylvania or Palo Alto? Buggy traffic is prolly hell in Pennsylvania. ;-)

futurez 08-04-2014 08:42 PM

good shop recommendations out there? I've always gone to R/T Tuning here.

Crypto2k 08-04-2014 08:46 PM

So far the votes are for MAC Autosport. http://www.macautosport.com

I've been to a dyno day there and they were great but haven't had any work done yet. Will be in the near future though.

MagmaRed370z 08-04-2014 10:05 PM

The cherry cricket is one of the best spots over here to eat a burger. FYI for a potential meeting

zracer44 08-06-2014 04:58 PM

Looking for a good body shop in Denver to install my Aero Jacket Wing. Anyone have any recommendations? Its the carbon fiber one and I would like the backside painted to match the car.
